Abstract
Perbedaan kehidupan akademik di bangku SMA dan perguruan tinggi, menuntut mahasiswa baru melakukan penyesuaian akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat perbedaan penyesuaian akademik (academic adjustment) pada mahasiswa dengan status diabaikan (neglected) dan status rata-rata (average). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif komparatif dengan metode sosiometri. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah non-probability sampling pada mahasiswa S1 dan D3 Universitas Brawijaya angkatan 2017. Terdapat dua instrumen yang digunakan. Pertama yaitu peer assessment sociometric untuk melakukan identifikasi peer status mahasiswa. Kedua yaitu sub-skala academic adjustment pada skala Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,854. Penelitian menggunakan t-test menggunakan Rstudio versi 1.1.423. Hasil yang diperoleh tidak signifikan yang berarti bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan academic adjustment pada mahasiswa dengan status diabaikan (neglected) dan status rata-rata (average) dengan p-value 0,2174 (>0,05).
English Abstract
Student’s life in college is different from high school level. Therefore, students are required to adjust to academic life This study aims to see whether there are differences in academic adjustment in students between neglected and average status. This research is a comparative quantitative research with sociometric method. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling in the undergraduate students of Brawijaya University class of 2017. There are two instruments used. The first is peer assessment sociometric to identify peer status of student. The second is the sub-scale of academic adjustment at the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) scale to measure the academic adjustment of students with reliability of 0.854. Research using t-test using Rstudio ver. 1.1.423. The results obtained are not significant which means that there is no difference of academic adjustment to the student with neglected and average status with p-value 0,2174 (> 0,05).
