Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi semakin berkembang pesat dibidang perangkat berskala kecil. Salah satu teknologi nya adalah Micropower generator , yaitu teknologi pembangkit skala mikro yang memiliki potensi untuk menghasilkan energy listrik memanfaatkan energi panas. Komponen utama MPG adalah ruang bakar atau disebut combustor, di dalam combustor tersebut berlangsung proses pembakaran skala meso atau micro. Sumber tenaga ini diharapkan dapat digunakan pada perangkat elektronik portabel di masa depan. Combustor yang akan diteliti berjenis meso-scale combustor yang memiliki physical length scale combustor lebih dari 1 mm. Bentuk combustor berjenis circular disk-type. Material terbuat dari tembaga dan memiliki diameter combustor 28mm dengan tebal 3 mm. Besar diameter outlet yang divariasikan pada penelitian ini adalah 2.5mm, 3.5mm, 4.5mm. Pembakaran jenis premixed dengan bahan bakar butana (C4H10) dan oksidator berupa udara. Beberapa faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi karakteristik permbakaran dalam combustor yaitu jumlah saluran masuk reaktan, sudut saluran masuk reaktan ke combustor, volume ruang bakar combustor, kecepatan masuk reaktan ke dalam combustor, dan diameter outlet. Pada penelitian ini akan diamati penggunaan circular disk combustor dengan variasi besar diameter outlet terhadap flame stability limit, visualisasi nyala api serta temperatur dinding combustor. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa semakin kecil diameter outlet maka range flame stability limit yang dihasilkan semakin lebar, temperatur dinding combustor semakin tinggi, dan distribusi api di dalam ruang bakar semakin merata dikarenakan waktu tinggal reaktan yang semakin lama.
English Abstract
Technologies development are increasing in the field of small-scale devices. One of the technologies is a micro power generator (MPG), which is a power generation technology that can produce electricity from heat. The main component of the MPG is combustor, which consist of meso and micro scale combustor This power source is expected to be used in the portable devices in the future. Type of combustor to be studied here is a meso-scale combustor that has a physical length more than 1 mm. The Shape is circular disk-type type combustor. Material is made of copper and has a diameter of 28mm combustion chamber with a thickness of 3 mm. Diameter outlets that were varied in this study were 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, 4.5 mm. Reactans enter the chamber with premix butane (C4H10) and air as oxidizing agent. Factors that can affect the combustion consist of amount of reactants that enter the combustor, the volume of the combustion chamber, the speed of entry into the combustor, and the diameter outlet. In this case,we will be study about The Effect of Exhaust Diameter On The Combustion Characteristics In Circular Disk Combustor such as flame stability limits, flame visualization and wall temperature of the combustor. The results showed that the smaller outlet diameter, the greater the flame stability range produced, the higher the fuel wall temperature, and more distribution of fire in the combustion chamber because of the longer residence time of the reactants
