Abstract
Layanan sirkulasi mandiri merupakan suatu sistem layanan peminjaman dan pengembalian koleksi dimana pemustaka melakukan proses peminjaman dan pengembalian koleksi secara mandiri tanpa melalui petugas perpustakaan. Dengan adanya layanan sirkulasi mandiri ini aktivitas sirkulasi yang pada awalnya membutuhkan dua orang atau lebih staf perpustakaan yang membantu peminjaman, perpanjangan, dan pengembalian buku sekarang cukup dengan mengecek status buku dapat dilihat di OPAC atau di layanan sirkulasi mandiri tersebut yang ada di dalam ruang perpustakaan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan tentang tingkat efektivitas layanan sirkulasi melalui sistem layanan mandiri dan mendeskripsikan faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat yang dihadapi oleh UPT. Perpustakaan pusat Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun fokus penelitian ini mengacu pada kriteria menilai efektivitas layanan mandiri dan faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat layanan mandiri. Layanan sirkulasi mandiri ini sudah memenuhi kriteria menilai efektivitas yaitu: Kegunaan layanan ini sudah fleksibel, stabil dan berjalan terus sesuai prosedur yang ada. Ketepatan dan obyektivitas sudah tepat sasaran dan tepat informasi. Ruang lingkup sudah mendukung pelayanan sirkulasi mandiri, kelengkapan dan kepaduan antara fasilitas dan pemustaka sudah memadai. Efektivitas biaya mencakup waktu dan usaha, biaya tambahan didapat dari sanksi keterlambatan pengembalian bahan pustaka dan sumbangan dari mahasiswa baru. Akuntabilitas, bagian sirkulasi sudah sangat bertanggung jawab atas pelaksanaan dan implementasi karena langsung di tangan Kepala Urusan Sirkulasi. Ketepatan waktu, pelaksanaanya sangat tepat waktu karena menggunakan sistem berbasis kebutuhan dan perpustakaan yang menciptakan sendiri sistem yang digunakannya. Beberapa faktor pendukung layanan mandiri diantaranya pustakawan, koleksi perpustakaan dan gedung dan fasilitas. Sedangkan faktor yang menghambat diantaranya: pemustaka, pendanaan, dan bimbingan pemakai kepada pemustaka.
English Abstract
Circulation self-service is a system of borrowing and refunding services where the user performs the process of borrowing and returning the collection independently without going through the librarian. With this self-circulation service, circulation activities that initially required two or more library staff who assisted borrowing, extension, and return of the book, now it is simply by checking the status of the book viewed at OPAC or in the independent circulation service that is in the library room. The objectives of this study were to describe the level of effectiveness of circulation services through self-service system and to describe the supporting factors and inhibiting factors faced by UPT. Perpustakaan Pusat Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. This study was a descriptive study with qualitative approach. The focus of this study referred to the criteria of assessing the effectiveness of self-service and supporting factors and inhibiting factors of selfservice. Circulation self-service met the criteria of assessing the effectiveness of: The usefulness of this service had been flexible, stable and run continuously according to the existing procedures. Accuracy and objectivity were right on target and appropriate information. The scope had supported the service of selfcirculation, then completeness and cohesion between facilities and visitors was adequate. The cost effectiveness included time and effort, additional costs from the delayed-return fine of the library materials and donations from new students. Accountability, the circulation had been very responsible for the application and implementation because it was directly controlled by the Head of Circulation affairs. Timeliness, its implementation was very timely because it used a needbased system and a library that created its own system in use. Some of the factors supporting self-service included librarians, library collections, buildings and facilities. While, the inhibiting factors were the users, funding, and the user guidance for the users.
