Abstract

Bawang merah merupakan salah satu komoditas sayuran unggulan yang sejak lama telah dibudidayakan oleh petani secara intensif. Permintaan akan bawang merah terus meningkat sejalan dengan peningkatan jumlah penduduk. Salah satu kendala dalam budidaya bawang merah di Indonesia ialah serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman (OPT) yang merugikan. Apabila kondisi ekosistem mendukung sering terjadi peledakan OPT terutama hama ulat bawang Spodoptera exigua Hubn (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). Selama ini upaya pengendalian S. exigua masih bertumpu pada penggunaan insektisida sintetik. Badan Litbang Pertanian kemudian mulai mengenalkan penggunaan lampu perangkap di Indonesia sebagai pemonitor dan pengendali hama untuk mencegah serangan sejak dini. Penggunaan lampu perangkap LED berpotensi meningkatkan efektivitas pengendalian hama S. exigua pada budidaya bawang merah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji pengaruh pemasangan lampu perangkap LED terhadap efektivitas pengendalian hama S. exigua. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Torongrejo, Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu, Provinsi Jawa Timur dan di laboratorium Hama Tumbuhan, Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya pada bulan Maret hingga Juni 2017. Penelitian menggunakan 2 perlakuan diantaranya perlakuan menggunakan lampu perangkap LED dan tanpa lampu perangkap LED serta ulangannya sebanyak 4 kali. Plot pengamatan pada setiap perlakuan berjumlah 4 plot dengan luasan 25 m2. Pengamatan pada penelitian ini meliputi pengamatan jumlah kelompok telur, larva, imago dan parasitoid S. exigua serta tingkat kerusakan tanaman bawang merah. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji t taraf kesalahan 5 %. Lampu perangkap LED tidak efektif untuk mengendaliakan hama S. exigua. Berdasarkan hasil analisis jumlah kelompok telur S. exigua terdapat perbedaan antara lahan menggunakan lampu perangkap LED dan tanpa lampu perangkap LED. Jumlah larva S. exigua menunjukan tidak terdapat perbedaan antara perlakuan menggunakan lampu perangkap LED dan tanpa lampu perangkap LED. Tingkat kerusakan tanaman memunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan antara perlakuan menggunakan lampu perangkap LED dan tanpa lampu perangkap LED. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh rerata imago S. exigua yang tertangkap pada lampu perangkap LED lebih rendah dibandingkan perangkap feromon seks. Parasitoid yang ditemukan di lahan menggunakan lampu perangkap LED dan tanpa lampu perangkap LED adalah Famili Braconidae.

English Abstract

Onion is one of the vegetable commodities that have long been cultivated by intensive farmers. Demand for onion is increasing as the population increases. One of the obstacles in onion cultivation in Indonesia is the attack of harmful plant pest organisms (OPT). If the ecosystem condition supports the frequent occurrence of pest explosion, especially the caterpillar onion Spodoptera exigua Hubn (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). During this effort, the control of S. exigua is still based on the use of synthetic insecticides. Agricultural Research Agency then began to introduce the use of light traps in Indonesia as a monitor and pest control to prevent attacks early on. The use of LED trap lights has the potential to improve the effectiveness of S. exigua pest control on onion plants cultivation. The purpose of this research was to examine the influence of the installation of LED light trap against the effectiveness of onion caterpillar pest control. The research was conducted in Torongrejo Village, Junrejo Sub-District, Batu City, East Java Province, and in Plant Hama Laboratory, Department of Plant Pest and Disease, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya from March to June 2017. The research is used 2 treatments such as treatment using an LED trap lights and without LED trap lights and repeat for 4 times. The plot of observation on each treatment amounted to 4 plots with an area of 25 m2. Observations in this research is included an observation of the group of eggs, larvae, imago and S. exigua parasitoid as well as damage to onion crops. The data is analyzed by t test of 5% error level. LED trap lights are not effective for controlling S. exigua pests. Based on the analysis of the number of S. exigua egg groups, there is a difference between the land that using an LED trap lights and without LED trap lights. The number of S. exigua larvae was showed that no difference between the treatments of using an LED trap lights and without LED trap lights. The extent of crop damage was showed that no difference between the treatments of using LED trap lights and without LED trap lights. Based on obtained data, the average of S. exigua imago that caught on the LED trap lights were lower than the sex pheromone trap. The Family Braconidae of parasitoid was found in the field that using an LED trap lights and without LED trap lights.
