Abstract

Sawi putih merupakan salah satu jenis sayuran daun yang disukai oleh konsumen Indonesia dan memiliki kandungan pro vitamin A, asam askorbat, dan serat yang tinggi. Selain itu, rasanya yang gurih membuatnya menjadi menu utama dalam berbagai hidangan sayuran. Hal ini dapat meningkatkan peluang ekonomi tanaman sawi putih seiring berkembang jumlah hotel, restoran, atau rumah makan. Kandungan serat yang tinggi dapat membantu memperlancar pencernaan serta dapat menjadi diet sehat, sayuran bergizi dan menyehatkan sangat dibutuhkan bagi tubuh manusia. Kualitas yang diinginkan oleh konsumen berbeda-beda sehingga menuntut dikembangkannya varietas-varietas sawi putih yang sesuai dengan kondisi wilayahnya. Selain itu, petani juga menginginkan varietas yang berdaya hasil tinggi dan mampu beradaptasi di dataran tinggi. Upaya perakitan varietas unggul perlu melalui pengujian daya hasil. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui daya hasil calon varietas tanaman sawi putih di dataran tinggi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 15 Desember 2017 sampai dengan 12 Maret 2018 di Kebun Percobaan PT. BISI International, Tbk. Farm Pujon yang terletak di Desa Pandesari, Kecamatan Pujon, Kabupaten Malang. Bahan yang digunakan antara lain: benih sawi putih, meliputi calon varietas yaitu CC14004 dan CC14007, serta empat varietas pembanding terdiri dari varietas Excellent, varietas Eikun, varietas Deli CR, dan varietas Sitara. Selain itu, cocopeat, pupuk kandang sapi, pupuk kandang ayam, NPK mutiara (16-16-16), fungisida merk dagang Victory 80 WP dan insektisida merk dagang Raydock 28 EC. Sedangkan, alat yang digunakan antara lain: cangkul, tray, semai, gembor, timba, knapsack, penggaris, timbangan duduk 10 kg, pinset, Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart, alat tulis dan kamera. Penelitian ini disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan perlakuan 6 varietas yang masingmasing diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Terdapat 13 tanaman sampel tiap petak perlakuan. Variabel pengamatan yang diamati pada sampel tanaman yang telah ditentukan meliputi: Karakter kuantitatif yaitu: tinggi tanaman (cm), diameter tanaman (cm), ukuran daun (cm), berat segar per krop (g), berat segar per plot (kg), dan Produksi tanaman per hektar (ton/ha). Sedangkan, karakter kualitatif yang diamati adalah warna daun, bentuk daun, rasa daun, dan tekstur daun. Data karakter kuantitatif yang diperoleh kemudian dihitung menggunakan analisis ragam uji F dengan taraf 5% dan apabila didapatkan hasil berbeda nyata maka, dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ 5%. Sedangkan karakter kualitatif dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan panduan deskripsi UPOV. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa calon varietas CC14004 memiliki hasil berat segar per krop, berat segar per plot, dan produksi per hektar yang berbeda nyata dengan calon varietas CC14007 dan varietas pembanding Sitara. Calon varietas CC14004 memiliki warna daun yang hijau dengan bentuk daun narrow obovate serta tekstur daun yang sangat renyah.

English Abstract

Chinensis cabbage is one of the leafy vegetables favored by Indonesian consumers and contains pro vitamin A, ascorbic acid, and high fiber. In addition, the savory taste makes it the main menu in a variety of vegetable dishes. This can increase chinensis cabbage economic opportunities as the number of hotels, restaurants, or restaurants grows. High fiber content can help facilitate digestion and can be a healthy diet. nutritious and healthy vegetables are needed for the human body. The quality desired by the consumers varies so as to demand the development of chinensis cabbage varieties in accordance with the conditions of its territory. In addition, farmers also want high yield varieties and are able to adapt in the highlands. The effort of assembling the improved varieties needs to be through potential yield test. The purpose of this research is to know the potential of prospective varieties of chinensis cabbage in the highlands. The research was conducted on December 15th, 2017 until March 12th, 2018 at experiment garden of PT. BISI International, Tbk. Pujon Farm located in Pandesari Village, Pujon District, Malang. The materials used include: chinese cabbage seeds, including prospective varieties CC14004 and CC14007, and four comparative varieties consisting of Excellent, Eikun varieties, Deli CR varieties, and Sitara varieties. In addition, cocopeat, cow manure, chicken manure, NPK pearl (16-16-16), Victory 80 WP trademark fungicide and trademark insecticide of Raydock 28 EC. Meanwhile, The tools used are: hoe, tray, seedlings, gembor, knapsack, ruler, 10 kg weight scales, tweezers, Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart, stationery and camera. This research was arranged using Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 varieties each repeated 4 times. There are 13 sample plants per treatment plot. The observed variables to be observed in the specified plant samples include: Quantitative characteristics ie: plant height (cm), plant diameter (cm), leaf size (cm), fresh weight per crop (g), fresh weight per plot (kg), and Production per hectare (ton/ha). Meanwhile, qualitative characters to be observed are leaf color, leaf shape, leaf taste, and leaf texture. The quantitative character data obtained was then calculated using the F test assay analysis with the 5% level and if the result was significantly different then, followed by 5% HSD test. While qualitative characters are done descriptively with UPOV description guidance. The results showed that prospective varieties CC14004 had fresh weight per plant, fresh weight per plot, and production per hectare was significantly different from that of prospective varieties CC14007 and Sitara varieties. Prospective varieties CC14004 has a green leaf colour with the shape of narrow obovate leaf and texture leaf is very crunchy.
