Abstract
Kondisi overweight pada kucing betina dapat disebabkan akibat operasi ovariohisterectomy serta pemberian pakan secara berlebih. Kondisi ini dapat memicu terjadinya peningkatan metabolisme lipid dan ketidakseimbangan hormon estrogen sehingga menyebabkan peningkatan akumulasi lipid dalam tubuh. Akumulasi lipid berlebih terutama dalam darah dapat menimbulkan kerusakan fungsional ginjal dan mengakibatkan peningkatan kadar Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) dan Kreatinin, sebagai indikator utama kerusakan ginjal. Liposuction bertujuan untuk mengambil sebagian jaringan lemak pada tubuh dengan menggunakan teknik laparatomi abdomen. Dengan adanya liposuction, diharapkan dapat memperbaiki metabolisme dalam tubuh sehingga kadar BUN dan kreatinin dapat kembali normal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kadar BUN dan Kreatinin sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan aplikasi Liposuction (sedot lemak) pada kucing overweight. Hewan model yang digunakan adalah kucing (Fellis cattus) betina non steril berumur 1-2 tahun dengan rataan berat badan sekitar 2-3 kg (kelompok kontrol) dan rataan berat badan sekitar 4-5 kg (kelompok steril overweight). Pengambilan darah dilakukan melalui Vena Cephalica atau Vena Jugularis sebanyak 3 mL setiap ekor pada H-1 sebelum perlakuan, dan H+4, H+10 ,H+17 setelah perlakuan Liposuction. Metode pengukuran parameter BUN dan Kreatinin menggunakan serum dari hewan coba yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat Abaxis VetScan®. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian dengan analisa data menggunakan metode independent T test, menunjukkan nilai signifikansi diatas 0,05 yang berarti kelompok perlakuan tidak memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan dengan kelompok kontrol pada H-1 sebelum liposuction, H+4, H+10 dan H+17 setelah liposuction. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi liposuction pada kucing overweight mampu menurunkan kadar BUN dan Kreatinin dalam serum kembali normal seperti kondisi pada kelompok kontrol.
English Abstract
Overweight conditions in female cats can be caused by ovariohysterectomy surgery and excessive feeding. This condition can lead to increased lipid metabolism and estrogen hormone imbalance resulting in increased lipid accumulation in the body. Excessive lipid accumulation, especially in the blood, can cause kidney functional damage and result in elevated levels of Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine, a leading indicator of kidney damage. Liposuction aims to take some of the fat tissue in the body by using abdominal laparotomy techniques. With the presence of liposuction, is expected to improve metabolism in the body so that BUN and creatinine levels can return to normal. This study aims to determine differences in levels of BUN and creatinine before and after treatment of liposuction in overweight cats. The model animal used was a nonsterile, 1-2 year old non-sterile female Felis catus with a weight of about 2-3 kg (control group) and a weight gain of about 4-5 kg (overweight sterile group). Blood sampling was done via Cephalica Vein or Jugular Vein as much as 3 mL each tail on H-1 before liposuction, and H + 4, H + 10, H + 17 after liposuction treatment. Methods of measuring BUN and creatinine parameters using serum from experimental animals were performed using the Abaxis VetScan® tool. The results obtained from the study with data analysis using the independent T test method, showed a significance value above 0.05, which means the treatment group did not have a significant difference with the control group on H-1 before liposuction, H + 4, H + 10 and H + 17 after liposuction. This shows that the application of liposuction in overweight cats can reduce BUN levels and serum creatinine back to normal as in the control group
