Abstract

Dalam upaya meraih visi dan misi sebagai perusahaan semen terkemuka di Indonesia dan Asia Tenggara, PT. Semen Indonesia (Persero), Tbk. perlu meningkatkan keunggulan bersaing. Peran budaya lokal masyarakat, budaya nasional dan budaya organisasional sangat dipentingkan mengingat akan bisa meningkatkan komitmen organisasional, kepemimpinan transformasional yang selanjutnya akan berdampak penting pada keunggulan bersaing perusahaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh signifikan; (1) budaya lokal masyarakat terhadap budaya nasional, (2) budaya nasional terhadap budaya organisasional, (3) budaya organisasional terhadap komitmen organisasional, (4) budaya organisasional terhadap kepemimpinan transformasional, (5) budaya organisasional terhadap keunggulan bersaing, (6) komitmen organisasional terhadap keunggulan bersaing dan (7) kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap keunggulan bersaing. Jenis penelitian adalah survei. Jenis dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan primer dan sekunder. Besaran target sampel yang akan dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah 156 responden. Kuesioner disebarkan pada 156 responden dan dikembalikan serta diisi lengkap sebesar 121 kuesioner (response rate 77%). Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah manajer puncak, manajer menengah dan manajer bawah di tiga lokasi perusahaan yakni PT. Semen Gresik, di Gresik & Tuban; PT. Semen Padang di Padang dan PT. Semen Tonasa di Pangkep yang tergabung dalam PT. Semen Indonesia (Persero), Tbk. Untuk menguji hipotesis, teknik statistik yang digunakan adalah Partial Least Square. Hasil penelitian secara umum menyimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh positif signifikan (1) budaya lokal terhadap budaya nasional, (2) budaya nasional terhadap budaya organisasional, (3) budaya organisasional terhadap komitmen organisasional, (4) budaya organisasional terhadap kepemimpinan transformasional, (5) budaya organisasional terhadap keunggulan bersaing, (6) komitmen organisasional terhadap keunggulan bersaing dan (7) kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap keunggulan bersaing.

English Abstract

In an effort to achieve the vision and mission as a leading semen company in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, PT. Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. needs to increase its competitive advantage. The role of local culture of community, national culture, and organizational culture are deemed paramount to increase organizational commitment and transformational leadership which in turn will have an important impact on the company s competitive advantage. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the significant influence of; (1) local culture of community on national culture, (2) national culture on organizational culture, (3) organizational culture on organizational commitment, (4) organizational culture on transformational leadership, (5) organizational culture on competitive advantage, (6) organizational commitment on competitive advantage, and (7) transformational leadership on competitive advantage. This is a survey study. There are two types of data collected in this study: primary and secondary. The target sample used in this study was 156 respondents. The questionnaires were distributed to 156 respondents with 121 questionnaires returned and completed (response rate of 77%). The respondents in this study were top managers, middle managers, and bottom managers at three company locations, PT. Semen Gresik in Gresik; PT. Semen Padang in Padang, and PT. Semen Tonasa in Makassar. All three are consolidated companies of PT. Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Partial Least Square statistical technique was used to test the hypothesis. The result of this study generally concluded that there are a significant positive influence of (1) local cultural on national culture, (2) national culture on organizational culture, (3) organizational culture on organizational commitment, (4) organizational culture on transformational leadership, (5) organizational culture on competitive advantage, (6) organizational commitment on competitive advantage, and (7) transformational leadership on competitive advantage.
