Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan membuktikan secara empiris pengaruh kompensasi terhadap motivasi, komitmen organisasional dan kinerja pegawai, pengaruh motivasi terhadap komitmen organisasional dan kinerja pegawai, serta pengaruh komitmen organisasional terhadap kinerja pegawai. Populasi penelitian adalah pegawai yang bekerja pada Satuan Kerja Perangkat Daerah (SKPD) Pengelola Pendapatan Asli Daerah di Kota Kendari sebanyak 1394 pegawai. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 126 pegawai yang dipilih dengan metode area proporsional random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan SEM (Struktural Equation Model). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kompensasi terhadap motivasi dan komitmen organisasional namun tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai. Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara motivasi terhadap komitmen organisasional dan kinerja pegawai, serta pengaruh yang signifikan pula antara komitmen organisasional terhadap kinerja pegawai. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ternyata kompensasi tidak dapat secara langsung meningkatkan kinerja pegawai, melainkan harus mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan memperkuat komitmen organisasional. Motivasi memberikan pengaruh yang kuat dalam hubungan antara kompensasi terhadap kinerja pegawai dibandingkan dengan bersama motivasi dan komitmen organisasional maupun hanya melalui komitmen organisasional
English Abstract
This study aims at examining and empirically demonstrating the effect of compensation on motivation, organizational commitment and employee performance, the effect of motivation on organizational commitment and employee performance, as well as the effect of organizational commitment on employee performance. The population of this study was the employees who work in the regional working units of the business of local revenue in Kendari as many as 1394 employees. The study sample as many as 126 employees were selected by proportional area random sampling method. The data were analyzed by using SEM Structural Equation Model). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of compensation on motivation and organizational commitment, but it does not have any significant effect on employee performance. There is a significant effect of motivation on organizational commitment and employee performance, and there is also a significant effect of organizational commitment on employee performance. T his shows that apparently compensation cannot directly improve employee performance, but it must be initiated with the effort of increasing employees`s motivation and strengthen their organizational commitment. Motivation gives a strong influence on the relationship between compensation and employee performance than when it deals with motivation and organizational commitment or when it only deals with organizational commitment.
