Abstract
Bioetanol berbahan baku nira aren merupakan alternatif dalam mengatasi semakin menipisnya ketersediaan bahan bakar yang tidak dapat diperbaharui, yang dapat memberikan dampak di segala sektor kehidupan terutama sektor transportasi. Selain nira aren dapat diperoleh setiap hari, proses destilasi juga mudah dilakukan, sehingga memiliki prospek yang cerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain, membuat, menguji alat destilasi bioetanol yang yang sesuai untuk industri kecil dan menghitung analisa usaha industri bioetanol skala kecil dengan bahan baku nira aren. Desain alat dibuat dengan metode pengujian meliputi adalah kapasitas efektif alat, efisiensi alat, kadar alkohol, sedangkan analisis ekonomi dilakukan penghitungan kelayakan usaha industri skala kecil. Dari hasil pembahasan dan disain penelitian ini diperoleh alat destilasi satu tingkat dengan ukuran tinggi 2 meter, diameter 6 inci terbuat dari bahan stainless steel tahan karat, kapasitas 110,93 liter/jam, efisiensi 96,29%. Berdasarkan perhitungan analisa ekonomi dengan biaya produksi Rp. 275,77 per liter etanol, mencapai break even point setelah produksi 126.416,84 liter per tahun. Usaha pendestilasian bioetanol berbahan baku nira aren dengan menggunakan alat destilasi bioetanol tipe sederhana ini layak untuk dilaksanakan dan dikembangkan karena memiliki net present value (NPV) ≥ 0 yaitu sebesar Rp. 38.676.668,5.
English Abstract
Bioethanol from raw palm juice are an alternative to overcome depletion of availability of fuel that can not be renewed, which could have an impact on all sectors of life, especially transport sector. Apart from palm juice every day can be obtained, distillation process is also easy to do, so it has a bright prospect. This study aims to design, build, test equipment bioethanol distillation is suitable for small industry and business analysis to calculate small-scale bioethanol industry with raw materials palm juice. Machine design is made with test method includes effective capacity of tool, appliance efficiency, levels of alcohol, while economic analysis carried out calculations on a small scale industrial feasibility. From results of discussion and design of this study were obtained distillation machine one level with height 2 meter, 6 inches in diameter made of materials stainless steel anti-corrosion, capacity of 110.93 liters/hour, efficiency of 96.29%. Based on calculation of economic analysis of production costs Rp. 275.77 per liter of ethanol, reaching break even point after production of 126,416.84 liters per year. Industrial business bioethanol made from raw palm juice by using a simple type of bioethanol distillation is feasible to implement and develop as it has a net present value (NPV) ≥ 0 is equal to Rp. 38,676,668.5.
