Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis, universitas brawijaya yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh secara langsung dari perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap motivasi intrinsik, motivasi ekstrinsik, dan kinerja karyawan. Selain itu, untuk mengetahui pengaruh tidak langsung perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap kinerja karyawan melalui motivasi intrinsic dan extrinsic. Dalam penelitian ini, data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner berskala likert, kemudian didistribusikan kepada 65 karyawan UB. Metode analisis yang diguankaan untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian ini adalah Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil analisis dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku kepemimpinan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi intrinsik, motivasi ekstrinsik, dan kinerja karyawan. Kemudian dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa variabel motivasi intrinsik berpengaruh negative dan tidak signifkan terhadap kinerja karyawan, dan dinyatakan tidak dapat memediasi pengaruh perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap kinerja karyawan, sedangkan variabel motivasi ekstrinsik berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, serta motivasi ekstrinsik mampu memediasi pengaruh perilaku kepemimpinan terhadap kinerja karyawan.

English Abstract

This research was conducted at faculty of economics and business, Brawijaya University which aimed to determine whe r re is a direct effect of leadership behavior on intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and employee performance. In addition, it was done to determine effect of indirect leadership behavior on employee performance through intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. In this study, data were collected using a questionnaire with Likert scale, and n distributed to 65 employees UB. To answer purpose of this study, method of analysis used was used Partial Least Square (PLS). results of analysis in this study informs that leadership behavior has a positive and significant effect on intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and employee performance. Later in this study it was found that intrinsic motivation variable does not have significant and negative effect on performance of employees and it is unable to mediate effect of leadership behavior on employee performance. Meanwhile, extrinsic motivation variable gives positive and significant effect on performance of employees and it is said that extrinsic motivation is also able to mediate influence of leadership behaviors on employee performance.
