Abstract
Globalisasi mengarahkan perusahaan menuju lingkungan yang tidak pasti dan dinamika perubahan yang mengakibatkan adanya persaingan sehingga para manajer perusahaan harus melakukan perubahan ( flexibility ) agar dapat meningkatkan perilaku inovasi dan kinerja perusahaan terutama dalam perusahaan jasa. Penelitian ini bertitik tolak dari beberapa penelitian yang mengungkapkan bahwa bauran fleksibilitas berpengaruh terhadap inovasi dan kinerja perusahaan. Dari beberapa penelitian yang diperoleh tersebut penulis ingin menguji dan menganalisis: (1) pengaruh variabel bauran fleksibilitas dan inovasi terhadap kinerja perusahaan; (2) pengaruh mediasi inovasi antara bauran fleksibilitas terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis explanatory research yang menjelaskan hubungan kausal antar variabel penelitian melalui pengujian hipotesis. Populasi dan sampel adalah 103 perusahaan jasa yang terdaftar dalam Dinas Perijinan Kota Malang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel jenuh. Dari 103 kuesioner yang disebar, sebanyak 90 kuesioner yang diterima atau dengan tingkat pengembalian 87.4%. Analisis jalur digunakan untuk melakukan pengujian hipotesis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Internal functional flexibility , internal numerical flexibility , external functional flexibility , financial flexibility , dan strategic flexibility berpengaruh terhadap inovasi dan kinerja perusahaan. Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil uji statistik inovasi juga berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Namun ada satu variabel yang tidak berpengaruh terhadap inovasi tapi secara langsung berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perusahaan, yaitu external numerical flexibility ; (2) Inovasi menjadi mediasi antara internal functional flexibility , internal numerical flexibility , external functional flexibility , financial flexibility , dan strategic flexibility terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Dari kelima variabel tersebut, inovasi menjadi mediasi yang kuat pada variabel internal functional flexibility , strategic flexibility , dan financial flexibility . Namun bila inovasi diperkuat akan memperbaiki nilai ( value ) semua fleksibilitas terhadap kinerja perusahaan.
English Abstract
Globalization has forced company entering toward uncertain environment. dynamic of change produces a competitive real such that company manager must execute certain change ( flexibility ) to increase innovation and firm performance. A service company is inescapable from this trend. Research takes departure from previous studies reporting that variables of flexibility mix have influenced innovation and firm performance. Based on this finding, author, n, examines and analyzes: (1) effect of variables of flexibility mix and innovation on firm performance; and (2) effect of innovative mediation between flexibility mix and firm performance. Research type is explanatory research which is explaining causal relationship between research variables through hypo sis testing. Population and sample are 103 service companies registered in Permit Office of Malang City. Sampling technique is saturated sampling. Of 103 questionnaires distributed, 90 questionnaires are accepted, thus resulting in 87.4% response rate. Path Analysis is considered in hypo sis testing. Result of research indicates that: (1) internal functional flexibility , numerical flexibility , external numerical flexibility , financial flexibility , and strategic flexibility influence innovation and firm performance. However, one variable does not have an effect on innovation, but directly influence firm performance. This variable is external numerical flexibility ; (2) innovation becomes a mediator between internal functional flexibility , numerical flexibility , external numerical flexibility , financial flexibility , and strategic flexibility to firm performance. Of se five variables, innovation is strong mediator for internal functional flexibility , strategic flexibility , and financial flexibility . Indeed, external numerical flexibility directly influences firm performance without innovation. If innovation is empowered, it will improve value of all flexibilities to firm performance.
