Abstract
Penggunaan sumber daya produksi seperti peralatan, material, tenaga kerja yang efektif merupakan hal yang diharapkan oleh setiap perusahaan untuk dapat menghasilkan suatu produk sehingga dapat memenuhi permintaan konsumen. PT. Essentra Indonesia yang merupakan perusahaan penghasil filter rokok, memanfaatkan sumber daya produksi guna menunjang produksi berbagai jenis filter rokok. Akan tetapi, pemanfatan tersebut masih menimbulkan kerugian berupa downtime, speed losses dan defect. Produk mono capsule filter (MCF) merupakan salah satu produk yang di produksi oleh perusahaan. Pada produksi MCF, mesin yang digunakan memiliki total nilai downtime tertinggi serta adanya defect yang melebihi standar perusahaan sehingga akan dievaluasi efektivitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas mesin maupun sumber daya, mengidentifikasi dan memberikan usulan perbaikan pada faktor-faktor penyebab rendahnya efektivitas penggunaan sumber daya produksi MCF. Perhitungan tingkat efektivitas penggunaan sumber daya produksi MCF menggunakan metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) dan Overall Resource Effectiveness (ORE). Dalam metode OEE diperhitungkan tiga faktor yaitu availability rate, performance efficiency dan quality rate. Sedangkan, metode ORE diperhitungkan tujuh faktor yaitu readiness, availability of facility, changeover efficiency, availability of material, availability of manpower, performance efficiency, dan quality rate. Selanjutnya, akan diidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya efektivitas penggunaan sumber daya produksi dengan menggunakan cause effect diagram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata tingkat efektivitas mesin produksi MCF menggunakan OEE sebesar 58,54%, dengan rata-rata nilai availability rate 81,69%, performance efficiency 75,03%, dan quality rate 95,51%. Sedangkan, rata-rata tingkat efektivitas sumber daya produksi MCF menggunakan ORE sebesar 55,40%, dengan ratarata nilai readiness 94,65%, availability of facility 91,45%, changeover efficiency 90,75%, availability of material 98,42%, availability of manpower 99,84%, performance efficiency 75,03%, dan quality rate 95,51%. Rata-rata nilai ORE memiliki nilai lebih kecil dibanding dengan rata-rata nilai OEE sehingga identifikasi akar penyebab masalah dilakukan pada kerugian yang berhubungan dengan ORE. Penyebab rendahnya efektivitas penggunaan sumber daya produksi MCF dilihat dari faktor manusia adalah pelatihan operator kurang, perbedaan skill antara operator mono dan dual, operator kurang motivasi, dan kurang memahami gejala kerusakan pada mesin. Dilihat dari faktor material adalah material tidak sesuai dengan standar spesifikasi dan service man terlambat menyediakan material. Dilihat dari faktor mesin: posisi pisau dan roller tidak sesuai, bagian-bagian mesin yang masih kotor, aliran filter terlalu banyak dan material tertinggal pada conveyor FPM. Dilihat dari faktor metode: belum ada pengawasan pada autonomous maintenance, frekuensi pengecekan filter masih kurang, cara pengisian capsule pada hopper tidak sesuai, change order tinggi berdampak pada waktu set-up. Dilihat dari faktor lingkungan: kurang dilakukan pembersihan area kerja.
English Abstract
The effective utilization of production resources such as machinery, materials, and manpower, is what every company hopes for in producing in order to fulfill consumer demand. PT. Essentra Indonesia is a company which produces cigarettes filter, it utilizes resources to produce various kinds of cigarretes filter. However, the utilization may lead to disadvantages such as downtime, speed losses, and defect. MCF is one of the products that is produced by the company. In MCF production, the machines have the highest rate of downtime than those that are used in any other filter productions and furthermore there are defects which exceeds the standard allowed by the company so that its effectiveness will be evaluated. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of MCF machinery and resources, identifies the factors that may reduce the effectiveness of the production resources, and to propose suggestions relating to the issues. This study uses Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Overall Resource Effectiveness (ORE) methods in evaluating the effectiveness of the MCF resources. The OEE method is applied in evaluating availability rate, performance efficiency and quality rate. The ORE is applied in readiness, availability of facility, changeover efficiency, availability of material, availability of manpower, performance efficiency, and quality rate. Next, this study is going to identify the factors that impacts in low effectiveness of the production resources by using cause effect diagram. The result shows the effectiveness of MCF resources evaluated by using OEE method to be 58,54%, with the averages of each factor to be; availability rate 81,69%, performance efficiency 75,03%, quality rate 95,51%. Meanwhile the ORE method shows the the effectiveness of MCF resources to be 55,40%, with the averages of each factor to be; readiness 94,65%, availability of facility 91,45%, changeover efficiency 90,75%, availability of material 98,42%, availability of manpower 99,84%, performance efficiency 75,03%, quality rate 95,51%. The average percentages in ORE result is lower than OEE, thus, the identification of the main causes of the problems is done on factors related to ORE. From human resources factor, the low effectiveness of MCF resources is caused by operator’s lack of training, difference in skill among mono and dual operators, operators lacking in motivation and in identifying the indications of the breakdown of the machines. From material factor, the issue is caused by the materials that are not living up to the standard of specifications and late supply by service man. From machinery factor, blade position and rollers are not compatible, dirty parts, too many filter flows, and materials that are stuck inside FPM conveyor. From method factor, there is no supervision on the autonomous maintenance, low frequency of examination, the filling of capsule into hopper is not done properly, and high rate of change order, which impacts set-up time. From environmental factor, there is not enough clean-up on working area.
