Abstract
Banyak jamu digunakan untuk menyembuhkan beberapa penyakit di Indonesia. Jahe (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) adalah salah satunya yang paling banyak digunakan karena mengandung beberapa unsur bioaktif dan memiliki sifat penunjang kesehatan. Sembung (Blumea Balsamifera) berasal dari famili Compositae. Tanaman tersebut bersifat sangat aromatik. Baik sembung dan jahe sebagai obat tradisional dapat mengobati darah tinggi dan diare. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji apakah jahe dan sembung memiliki efek di dalam sel otot polos atau sel endotelial pada cincin aorta terisolasi milik marmut (Cavia porcellus) yang diperlakukan dengan atau tanpa endotelium. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi eksperimen in vitro. Penelitian dilakukan pada aorta terisolasi milik marmut yang di pra-kontraksi dengan Fenilfrin (10-5 M) dan dimasukkan dalam organ bath. Cincin aorta marmut dimasukkan dalam organ bath yang mengandung larutan Kreb dan dianginkan dengan Carbogen. Enam dosis ekstrak metanol jahe (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, 100 dan 1000μg/ml) dan lima dosis ekstrak metanol Sembung (0.125, 0.250, 0.500, 0.750 dan 1 mg/ml) dimasukkan dalam organ bath. Kontraksi cincin aorta direkam dengan alat PowerLab yang tersambung ke transduser isometrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua konsentrasi sembung dan jahe meningkatkan kontraksi baik dengan atau tanpa endotelium.
English Abstract
Many medicinal herbs are used to treat some diseases in Indonesia. Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) is one of most widely used herbs which contains several bioactive constituents and possesses health promoting properties. Nagi Camphor (Blumea Balsamifera) comes from family of Compositae. plant is strongly aromatic. Both Nagi Camphor and ginger as traditional medicines can treat hypertension and diarrhea. objective of this study was to investigate whe r ginger and Nagi Camphor had an effect in smooth muscle cell or endo lial cell on isolated aortic ring of guinea pig (Cavia porcellus) both treated by and not treated by endo lium. design of study is in vitro true experimental study. It was conducted on isolated aorta of guinea pig pre-contracted by Phenylephrine (10-5 M) and added to organ bath. aortic ring of guinea pig was put in organ bath containing Kerb`s solution aerated with Carbogen. Six doses of Methanolic extract of ginger (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, 100 and 1000μg/ml) and five doses of Methanolic extract of Nagi Camphor (0.125, 0.250, 0.500, 0.750 and 1 mg/ml) were put in organ bath. aortic ring contraction was recorded by Powerlab kit connected to an isometric transducer. result indicated that all concentrations of Nagi Camphor and ginger increased aortic ring contractions both treated by and not treated by endo lium.
