Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memeriksa berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja akademik siswa sekolah menengah di Tripoli Libya. Sepuluh sekolah dari lima puluh enam sekolah di Tripoli dipilih, sampel terdiri dari 300 siswa dan (180 pria & 120 wanita). Sebuah survei dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner untuk pengumpulan informasi tentang berbagai faktor yang berkaitan dengan kinerja akademik siswa dan ujian dilakukan bagi siswa untuk mengetahui nilai mereka. T-test standar, uji ANOVA dan CHI-Square diterapkan untuk menyelidiki efek dari berbagai faktor pada prestasi siswa. Hasilnya mengkonfirmasi bahwa kinerja siswa rendah, juga tidak ada perbedaan antara kinerja pria dan wanita, hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa dari 12 faktor hanya tingkat pendidikan dan gaji orang tua memiliki pengaruh signifikan pada siswa. Keseluruhan prestasi akademik serta pencapaian dalam subyek statistik dan model regresi logistik dibangun berdasarkan faktor-faktor ini yang mempengaruhi kinerja siswa

English Abstract

This study was conducted to examine different factors influencing the academic performance of high school students in Tripoli Libya. Ten schools out of fifty six schools in Tripoli were selected, A sample composed of 300 students and (180 male & 120 female). A survey was conducted by using a questionnaire for information gathering about different factors relating to academic performance of students and an exam was conducted for the students to know their grades. Standard t-test, ANOVA and chi-square test were applied to investigate the effect of different factors on students` achievement. The results confirmed that the performance of students was low, also is no difference between the performance of male and female, the results of the study revealed that from 12 factors only fathers level of education and parent`s salary have a significant effect on students` overall academic achievement as well as achievement in the statistics subjects and the logistic regression model was built based on these factors that affected on student performance
