Abstract

Studi ini meneliti pengaruh investasi asing langsung pada karakteristik fundamental dan struktur modal perusahaan manufaktur menggunakan analisis PLS (Path Least Square). Data dikumpulkan dari 15 laporan keuangan tahunan perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dari 2009 hingga 2012 yang dipilih sebagai sampel sebagai periode observasi 4 tahun menggunakan purposive sampling. Ditemukan bahwa pengaruh investasi asing langsung secara negatif signifikan pada karakteristik fundamental, ada pengaruh signifikan dari investasi langsung asing pada struktur modal, dan karakteristik fundamental memiliki efek yang bertentangan namun signifikan terhadap struktur modal. Hasil penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisi celah penelitian investasi asing langsung, karakteristik mendasar, dan literatur struktur modal di negara-negara berkembang khususnya di Indonesia, bahkan lebih sebagai referensi untuk manajemen korporasi dan investor di Indonesia.

English Abstract

This study examined the effect of Foreign Direct Investment on Fundamental Characteristics and Capital Structure of manufacturing corporations using PLS (Path Least Square) analysis. Data were collected from 15 annual financial statements of listed manufacturing corporations in Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2009 to 2012 which chosen as samples as 4 years observation period using purposive sampling. It was found that the effect of Foreign Direct Investment is negatively significant on Fundamental Characteristics, there`s a significant effect of Foreign Direct Investment on Capital Structure, and Fundamental Characteristic has a contrary yet significant effect on Capital Structure. The result of this study is aim to filling the research gap of Foreign Direct Investment, Fundamental Characteristic, and Capital Structure literature in emerging countries specifically in Indonesia, even more as a references for the corporation management and investor in Indonesia.
