Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengujian tentang stabilitas PIM berdasarkan derajat swelling dan massa relatif. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh jenis plasticizer dan konsentrasi carrier terhadap stabilitas PIM. Pada penelitian ini digunakan PVC sebagai polimer, 1,10-Dekanadiol dan DOP sebagai plasticizer, dan Aliquat 336-Cl sebagai carrier. Pengujian derajat swelling dilakukan dengan merendam PIM pada fasa perendam akuades, NaCl 0,1 M, dan HCl 0,1 M selama 5 kali, masing-masing perendaman 1 hari. Pengujian massa relatif dilakukan dengan membandingkan massa kering membran dengan massa awal membran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PIM dengan plasticizer 1,10-Dekanadiol kurang stabil pada fasa perendam akuades, NaCl 0,1 M dan HCl 0,1 M. PIM-DOP konsentrasi Aliquat 336-Cl dibawah 30% stabil pada fasa perendam NaCl 0,1 M dan HCl 0,1 M.

English Abstract

PIM stability has been investigated based on the degree of swelling and the relative mass. The purposes of this study were to investigate the effect of plasticizer and carrier concentration on the stability of PIM. In this study, PVC was used as base polymer with 1,10-Decanediol and DOP as plasticizer, and the carrier was Aliquat 336-Cl. The degree of swelling was measured after immersing PIM in the immersion phase, including distilled water, NaCl 0.1 M, and HCl 0.1 M for 5 times, each immersing was 1 day. The relative mass was observed based on the dry mass of PIM relatively to the initial mass. The result showed that the PIM prepared by using 1,10-Decanediol plasticizer was less stable in distilled water, NaCl 0.1 M, and HCl 0,1 M as the immersion phase. PIM consisted of DOP and Aliquat 336-Cl concentration under 30% was stable at immersion phase of 0.1 M NaCl and HCl 0.1 M.
