Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan selektivitas adsorpsi biomassa Azolla microphylla-alginat terhadap kadmium(II). Selektivitas adsorpsi biomassa A. microphylla-alginat ditingkatkan dengan metode ion imprinted (adsorben tercetak ion). Adsorben tercetak ion disiapkan dengan cara mengamobilisasikan biomassa A. microphylla yang telah mengadsorpsi kadmium(II) pada Ca-alginat dan dilanjutkan dengan mendesorpsinya menggunakan larutan HCl 1 M. Kondisi optimum adsorpsi kadmium(II) oleh biomassa A. microphylla-alginat tercetak ion ditentukan dengan metode batch pada variasi pH 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 dan variasi waktu kontak 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 120 menit. Selektivitas adsorben tercetak kadmium(II) diuji terhadap seng(II) dan timbal(II). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi optimum adsorpsi kadmium(II) oleh biomassa A. microphylla-alginat tercetak ion terjadi pada pH 6 dan waktu kontak 45 menit. Metode ion imprinted berhasil meningkatkan selektivitas adsorpsi biomassa A. microphylla terhadap kadmium(II).
English Abstract
This research aimed to increase the adsorption selectivity of Azolla microphylla-alginate biomass toward cadmium(II). Adsorption selectivity of A. microphylla-alginate biomass enhanced by ion imprinted method. Ion imprinted adsorbent prepared by immobilizing A. microphylla biomass that bound cadmium(II) in Ca-alginate and continued by cadmium(II) desorption using HCl solution 1 M. The optimum conditions of cadmium(II) adsorption by ion imprinted biomass of A. microphylla-alginate were determined by a batch method at various pH of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and various contact time of 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 120 minutes. Adsorption selectivity of cadmium(II) imprinted adsorbent was tested to zinc(II) and lead(II). The results showed that the optimum conditions of cadmium(II) adsorption by ion imprinted biomass of A. microphylla-alginate occurred at pH 6 and contact time of 45 minutes. Ion imprinted method enhanced the adsorption selectivity of biomass of A. Microphylla toward cadmium(II).
