English Abstract

Meru Betiri National Parks (TNMB) is one of the conservation areas with high biodiversity levels. This area is famous for tourism activity because it has a beauty landscape that is still relatively conserved. This study aims to determine the type, habitat and distribution maps of snakes in the area of research. This research aims to identify species diversity of snakes, snakes habitat and its distribution in Rajegwesi Tourism Area in TNMB. Geographic data such as coordinate points are used a basis for habitat mapping. Result of the study shows that snakes distributes at 6 locations namely swamp areas, residential areas, magrove areas, nowe-opened agriculture area (bahatan), resort area and ravine Jurang Plengkang area. The totl distribution of snakes found in 21 point coordinates. The recorded snakes species are Burmese Python (Python reticulatus), Red-necked Keelback (Rhabdophis ,subtniniatus), Painted Bronzeback Snake (Dendrelaphis Pictus), Black Copper Rat Snake (Coelognathus flavolineatus), Striped Keelback (Xenochrophis vittatus), Spotted Ground Snake (Gongvosotna balioderius), Gold-ringed Cat Snake (Boiga dendrophila), Radiated Rat Snake (Coelognathus radiants), Common Wolf Snake (Lycodon capucinus), Checkered Keelback (Xenochrophis Piscator), Banded Wolf snake (Lycodon suhcinetus), Cobra (Naja sputatrix), King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah), Malayan Krait (Bungarus Candidus) and Banded Krait (Bungarus fasciatus).
