Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas katalis Ni/γ-Al2O3 terhadap reaksi hidrogenasi senyawa turunan furfural menggunakan metode autoclave oil batch reactor. Katalis Ni/γ-Al2O3 dibuat secara impregnasi basah dengan mencampurkan Ni(NO3)2.6H2O dan γ-Al2O3 dalam metanol. Selanjutnya, dikalsinasi dan direduksi pada temperatur 550oC dan 500oC. Karakterisasi katalis dilakukan menggunakan metode XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) dan XRF (X-Ray Fluorescenes). Uji aktivitas katalis dilakukan dengan mereaksikan campuran 4-furanil-3-butena-2-on (C8) dan 1,5-difuranil-1,4-pentadiena-3-on (C13) dengan isopropanol. Reaksi hidrogenasi dilakukan dengan metode oil batch reactor autoclave pada atmosfer H2. Hasil reaksi menunjukkan bahwa katalis Ni/γ-Al2O3 dapat digunakan untuk reaksi hidrogenasi. Produk reaksi selama 8 jam dengan temperatur 140oC dikarakterisasi menggunakan spektrofotometer FTIR dan Kromatografi Gas (KG). Berdasarkan karakterisasi spektrofotometer FTIR menunjukkan peningkatan intensitas C=O keton tidak terkonjugasi pada bilangan gelombang 1712,67 cm-1, sedangkan hasil karakterisasi menggunakan kromatografi gas menunjukkan bahwa terbentuk produk hidrogenasi 1,5-di-(furan-2-il)-penta-1-en-3-on sebesar 13,21%.
English Abstract
The purpose of this research is to investigate the activity of Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalyst for hydrogenation reaction of furfural derivates using oil batch reactor autoclave method. Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalyst were prepared by wet impregnation method by mixed Ni(NO3)2.6H2O and γ-Al2O3 in methanol. Then, the catalyst calcinated and reduced at 550oC and 500oC. Ni/γ-Al2O3 were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction and X-Ray Fluorescence. The reaction was conducted by reacting mixture 4-furanyl-3-buten-2-one (C8) and 1,5-difuranyl-1,4-pentadien-3-one (C13) used isopropanol as solvent. The hydrogenation did by oil batch reactor autoclave in H2 atmosphere. The result showed that Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalyst can be used for hydrogenation reaction. The reaction product at 140oC during 8 hours characterized by Fourier Transformed IR and gas chromatography (GC). Based on the characterization of Fourier Transformed IR showed the increasing of carbonyl keton characterat 1712,67 cm-1, and analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) showed the hydrogenation product 1,5-di-(furan-2-yl)-penta-1-en-3-one is 13,21%.
