Abstract

Apel (Malus sylvestris Mill) sebagai ciri khas Kota Batu produksinya mengalami penurunan yang disebabkan oleh serangan kapang patogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari potensi dan identifikasi isolat kapang antagonis dalam menghambat pertumbuhan kapang patogen tanaman apel dari perkebunan apel di Gabes Kota Batu Jawa Timur. Tahapan penelitian meliputi isolasi kapang antagonis dan kapang patogen tanaman apel, skrining kapang antagonis, uji antagonis dengan metode dual culture berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Kelompok, dan identifikasi kapang antagonis secara molekular. Hasil skrining didapatkan lima isolat kapang antagonis serta isolat OK14, OK23, FO1, dan FO14 memiliki potensi penghambatan secara berurutan 38,0; 52,4; 50,0; dan 49,7 % terhadap kapang patogen AN5.2. Isolat OK14, OK23, dan FO13 memiliki potensi penghambatan secara berurutan 39,3; 41,8; dan 83,2 % terhadap kapang patogen AN3.2. Isolat OK23 merupakan antagonis potensial terhadap kapang patogen AN5.2 diidentifikasi sebagai Aspergillus fumigatus, sedangkan isolat FO13 sebagai antagonis potensial terhadap kapang patogen AN3.2 belum teridentifikasi.

English Abstract

Apple (Malus sylvestris Mill) as character of Batu City its production decreased due to pathogenic mold infection. The objective of this research is to study potency and identify the mold antagonist isolates to inhibit growth of apple plant pathogenic mold from apple orchard in Gabes Batu City East Java. Steps of the research include isolation of antagonist and apple plant pathogenic mold, screening antagonist mold, antagonist assay with dual culture method based on Randomized Block Design, and identifying antagonistic mold by molecular. The result screened that five isolates of were antagonist mold and the isolates OK14, OK23, FO1, and FO14 have inhibiting potency against pathogenic mold AN5.2 respectively 38.0; 52.4; 50.0; and 49.7 %. Isolates OK14, OK23, and FO13 have inhibiting potency against pathogenic mold AN3.2 respectively 39.3; 41.8; and 83.2 %. Isolate OK23 is potential antagonist against pathogenic mold AN5.2 identified as Aspergillus fumigatus. However, isolate FO13 as potential antagonist against pathogenic mold AN3.2 was not yet identified.
