Abstract
Oksidasi alfa-pinena dengan potasium permanganat (KMnO4) dalam suasana basa menghasilkan 3 senyawa. Produk dominan mengalami reaksi kondensasi yaitu asam 2-(3-4(3-asetil-2,2-dimetil siklobutil)-1,3-dihidroksibutil) siklobutil asetat dengan persen hasil 62,72%. Kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus dan E. coli tergolong lemah. Pada percobaan sintesis senyawa kompleks, diperoleh kompleks PO-Zn(II) dan kompleks PO-Cu(II) dengan persen hasil sebesar 70,0% dan 38,3%. Kemampuan kompleks PO-Zn(II) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S.aureus dan E.coli tergolong sangat kuat. Namun daya hambat antibakteri pada bakteri uji kompleks PO-Cu(II) tergolong lemah.
English Abstract
Alpha-pinene oxidation with potassium permanganate in alkaline conditions produced 3 compounds (PO). The dominant products undergo further condensation reaction afforded 2-(3-4(3- acetyl-2,2-dimethylcyclobutyl)-1,3-dihidroxybutil) cyclobutyl acetic acid with 62.72% yield. The ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria S. aureus and E. coli relatively weak. In the experimental synthesis of the complex compounds obtained was PO-Zn(II) and PO-Cu(II) with 70.0% and 38.32% yield, respectively. The ability of PO-Zn(II) complex in inhibiting the growth of S. aureus and E. coli bacteria was classified as strong. However, the bacterial inhibition test for PO-Cu(II) complex conversely weak.
