Virosa, AchmadVirdi (2014) Perangkap Polisiklik Aromatik Hidrokarbon (PAH) dalam Emisi Kendaraan Bermotor dengan Menggunakan Whatman Filter Paper PM 2.5. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
This study aims to analyze the content of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) emitted by motorcycles. Motorcycle used in this study include Satria, Beat, Mio Soul, Hayate, and Vega ZR. Each motorcycle has the output of the 2010 until 2011. Trapping emissions from motorcycles are done by feeding the emission to whatman filter paper PM 2.5. PAH components were trapped on the filter paper whatman PM 2.5 was isolated by Soxhlet method. The soxhlet method were carried out for 10 hours. Extract cleaning was conducted by column chromatography. Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrofotometer (GC/MS) with a DB-5ms column is used to analyze PAH compound. The results of GC/MS showed that the presence of 7 types of carcinogenic compounds belonging to the PAH and Volatile Organic Compound (VOC). Compounds were detected in motorcycle emissions include 2-methyl-naphthalene, acenaphthene, 1- naphthalen-2yl-ethanone, c-(3-vivyl-naphthalen-2-yl)-methylamine, 1-(3-methyl-naphthalen-2-yl)-ethanone, 3-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroanthracen- 2-ylamine, benzo[a]anthracene, 9-vinyl-naphthacene-2- carbonitrile, benzophenone, 1,4-dimethylbenzene, 2.3- dimethylpentane, ethylbenzene, methylcyclopentane, n-hexane, cyclohexane, and 2-hexanone. Compounds in the class of PAH and VOC can be formed through the incomplete combustion. These compounds are carcinogenic compounds that can cause health problems.
