Abstract
Evaluasi kualitas air berdasarkan parameter fisikokimia dan biologi perlu dilakukan untuk menjamin kelayakan fungsi air bagi makhluk hidup. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan struktur komunitas makroinvertebrata bentos dan kualitas air di saluran mata air Sumber Awan berdasarkan indeks biotik. Pengambilan sampel makroinvertebrata bentos dan pengukuran beberapa parameter fisikokimia air dilakukan pada tujuh titik di sepanjang saluran air termasuk titik mata air Sumber Awan. Makroinvertebrata bentos diambil dengan menggunakan jaring surber dan hand net sebanyak ±100 individu, lalu diidentifikasi, dicari struktur komunitas dan nilai indeks HBI, FBI, EPT, ASPT, dan diversitas. Kualitas fisikokimia air dicari rata-ratanya dan dibandingkan dengan standar baku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur komunitas makroinvertebrata bentos pada stasiun dua hingga lima didominasi oleh jenis yang intoleran terhadap pencemaran yakni Hydropsychidae dan Lepidostomatidae, stasiun satu dan enam didominasi oleh jenis fakultatif yakni Thiaridae, dan stasiun tujuh didominasi oleh cacing Oligochaeta dan Chironomidae yang toleran terhadap pencemaran. Berdasarkan nilai FBI, stasiun satu hingga enam digolongkan memiliki kualitas air sedang (nilai 5,16-5,57), sedangkan stasiun tujuh digolongkan memiliki kualitas air yang sangat buruk (nilai 7,63). Berdasarkan nilai HBI dan ASPT, stasiun satu hingga lima digolongkan memiliki kualitas air bagus/air bersih (nilai HBI 4,89-5,27 dan ASPT 7,45-6,27), stasiun enam digolongkan memiliki kualitas air sedang/tercemar sedang (nilai HBI 5,56 dan ASPT 6), dan stasiun tujuh digolongkan memiliki kualitas air buruk/tercemar berat (nilai HBI 7,60, dan ASPT 4). Berdasarkan struktur komunitas makroinvertebrata bentos dan skor beberapa indeks biotik kualitas air ditunjukkan bahwa semakin ke hilir telah terjadi gradasi penurunan kualitas air pada saluran air hingga ±800 m dari mata air Sumber Awan karena pencemaran bahan organik dari aktivitas manusia di sekitarnya yakni MCK, residu pertanian dan peternakan.
English Abstract
Water quality evaluation based on physicochemical and biology parameters is needed to keep the water healthy function for organism. This research aims to know the changes of benthic macroinvertebrate community structure and water quality along the stream of Sumber Awan wellspring based on macroinvertebrate biotic index. Benthic macroinvertebrate sampling and measure of water physicochemical parameters conducted at seven station along the stream include the wellspring. Benthic macroinvertebrate was sampled by surber and hand net approximately 100 individues, then identified, known the community structure also HBI, FBI, EPT, ASPT and diversity index value. The average of some water physicochemical quality was compared with the standard. The result show that the community structure of benthic macroinvertebrate at second until fifth station was dominated by Hydropsychidae and Lepidostomatidae as an intolerant taxa to the pollution, the first and sixth station dominated by Thiaridae as a facultative taxa, and the seventh station dominated by Oligochaeta and Chironomidae as a tolerant taxa to the pollution. Based on FBI value, the first until sixth station was categorized in fair water quality (value 5.16-5.57), whereas the seventh station has very poor water quality (value 7.63). Based on HBI and ASPT value, the first until fifth station have good/clean water quality (HBI value 4.89-5.27 and ASPT 7.45-6.27), the sixth station has poor/probable moderate pollution (HBI value 5.56 and ASPT 6), and the seventh station has very poor/probable severe pollution (HBI value 7.60 and ASPT 4). The community structure of benthic macroinvertebrate and the value of some water quality biotic index at seven station show that the water quality along the stream until ±800 m from Sumber Awan wellspring were decrease because of organic pollution from human activity around the stream, there are public bathing, washing and latrine, also farm residue and animal husbandry waste.
