Cristanti, LindaDeviana (2013) Pertumbuhan Padi Hitam dan Serangan Beberapa Herbivor Di Sawah Padi Organik Kecamatan Kepanjen. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine diversity of visiting herbivores of Toraja black rice in Kepanjen organic rice field, to determine black rice symptoms caused by herbivores attacks, to compare the normal and rat attacked black rice growth. Observations were held on three rice fields on 28, 48, 88, and 112 days after transplanting (dat). We measured plant height, number of tillers, panicle, spikes and biomass. Herbivores visitors were observed at 06.30 to 10.30 am using cruising method, visual encounter in each plot and abundance score 0 to 4. Herbivores visitor diversity was determined by species, families and orders richness. Rat attack impacts to black rice growth were analyzed using PAST and SPSS software. Results showed that there were six herbivore families found in vegetative and generative growth in black rice field, including rat (Muridae), sparrow (Estrildidae), moth borer (Pyralidae), flies (Muscidae), flies seeds (Ephydridae) and moth (Arctiidae). Significant attacks by rat were recorded on black rice grown after 26 dat, while Estrildidae attacks were taken place during generative period. Even though there was a height recovery, however rat attack in early growth decreased panicle and spikes number until 10 % to 55 % during harvesting.
