Abstract
Kitosan-karbon aktif merupakan materi penukar anion karena mepunyai gugus amonium (-NH 3 +) pada pH < 6,5 yang berfungsi sebagai gugus aktif. Emas(I) sianida yang bermuatan negatif dapat diikat oleh Gugus amonium (-NH3 +). Emas(I) sianida dapat didesorpsi menggunakan ekstraktan NH4OH dan NaCl. Pada penelitian ini dipelajari pengaruh jenis anion yaitu OH- (NH4OH) dan Cl- (NaCl) terhadap recovery emas(I) sianida dengan masingmasing konsentrasi 0,005M; 0,01 M; 0,05 M dan digunakan akuades sebagai pembanding. Emas(I) sianida diperoleh kembali melalui proses desorpsi menggunakan NH4OH dan NaCl. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa proses adsorpsi emas(I) sianida oleh butiran kitosan-karbon aktif terjadi adsorpsi fisika dan pembentukan ikatan ion. Peningkatan konsentrasi NH4OH meningkatkan recovery sedangkan dengan NaCl semakin menurun. Recovery terbesar diperoleh pada konsentrasi NH4OH 0,05M yaitu 4,56 %.
English Abstract
Activated carbon-chitosan at pH < 6.5 which has amonium groups (-NH 3 +) could be used for anionic exchanger. The negative complex gold(I) cyanide was bonded by activated groups of chitosan (-NH3 +). Gold(I) cyanide which adsorbed on the activated carbonchitosan could be recovered of NH4OH and NaCl as extractant. In this study, the concentration of NH4OH and NaCl of 0.005 M. 0.01 M.0.05 M were used with aquadest as reference. From this study, it can be seen that gold(I) cyanide anions were absorbed physically in the pore of chitosan and through formation of ionic bound with ammonium groups (-NH3 +) of chitosan.. Recovery of gold(I) cyanide was increased with an increase of NH4OH concentration but in contrast it was decrease with an increase of NaCl concentration. The highest recovery of 4.56 % was obtained when using 0.05 M of NH4OH as extractant..
