Abstract

Telah dikaji tentang adsorpsi karbon mesopori terhadap rhodamin B. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan lama dan kecepatan pengocokan optimum pada proses adsorpsi rhodamin B oleh karbon mesopori sintetik, serta mempelajari perbedaan nilai adsorpsi karbon mesopori sintetik terhadap karbon aktif perdagangan. Adsorpsi dilakukan dengan komposisi 0,1000 g karbon mesopori 25 mL larutan rhodamin B 100 ppm (pH 9 ), pada berbagai lama pengocokan (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ) jam ,dan kecepatan pengocokan (100, 125, 150, 175, 200) rpm. Penentuan konsentrasi sisa rhodamin B dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode spektrofotometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama dan kecepatan pengocokan optimum diperoleh pada lama pengocokan 3 jam dan kecepatan pengocokan 150 rpm dengan nilai adsorpsi sebesar (99,20 ± 0,17) % untuk konsentrasi rhodamin B 100 ppm. Nilai adsorpsi ini relatif sama (0,99 kali) nilai adsorpsi karbon aktif perdagangan.

English Abstract

The study adsorption of synthetic mesoporous carbon to rhodamine B was studied. The research target is to determined optimum shaking time and speed in adsorption process by synthetic mesoporous carbon and to study the different adsorption performance of the synthetic mesoporous carbon with the commercially active carbon. The adsorptions were conducted at condition of 0.1000 g mesoporous carbon , 25 mL of rhodamine B solution 100 ppm (pH 9), various shaking time (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 hours) and various stirring speed (100, 125, 150, 175, and 200 rpm). Remain rhodamine B was determined with spectrophotometry method. Result of the research showed that the optimum shaking time and speed on adsorption process by synthetic mesoporous carbon to rhodamine B were obtained at 3 hours and 150 rpm respectivelly with the value of adsorption (99.20±0,17)% for concentration rhodamin B 100 ppm. This value was relatively same as of the comercial active carbon (0.99 times of the latter).
