Studi Kemampuan Adsorpsi Biomassa Daun Rumput Gajah (pennisetum purpureum) Terhadap Cr(VI)

Agung, Desak Putu (2007) Studi Kemampuan Adsorpsi Biomassa Daun Rumput Gajah (pennisetum purpureum) Terhadap Cr(VI). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Adsorption of Cr(VI) by elephant grass leaves biomass was studied. The purpose of this research is to determine the adsorption optimum condition and the adsorption capacity of elephant grass leaves biomass toward Cr(VI). The experiments were conducted at, various shaking time period of 15, 30, 60, and 120 minutes, and various pH of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, various Cr(VI) concentration of 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, and 150 ppm. The remaining of Cr(VI) in the solution was measured spectrophotometrically with diphenylcarbazide-method of the research. Adsorption percentage was determined based on the Cr(VI) concentration before and after the adsorption. The results showed that shaking time period, pH and Cr(VI) concentration influenced the adsorption of Cr(VI) (P < 0,05). Optimum conditions of the adsorption were obtained at shaking time periode of 60 minutes, pH of 2 with adsorption capacity of 15,97 ± 0,27 mg/g.
