English Abstract

The aim of this research was resulting the coated wire ion PbCl4 2- selective electrode (ISE). ISE has been made of a electrode body, Pt wire as internal reference electrode and membrane ion exchange that consist by mixture an active material of Aliquat 336 PbCl4 2- : PVC : plasticizer (DBP) with ratio (% w w ) = 4 : 30 : 66 and dissolved in THF solvent with ratio (w/v) = 1:3 volume, that coated on surface of platinum wire. The basic characterization of ISE included (Nernstian properties), range of concentration, detection limit, respon time, life time and influence of soaking in Na2PbCl4 0.05 M solution. The coated wire PbCl4 2- selective electrode that was made applicated in artificial waste water, and their result is compared to standart method Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometric (AAS). These ISE is small in size and simple in construction. The production of this ISE showed the reproducibility is good, have optimum characteristics for analysis of Pb as PbCl4 2-. These coated wire ion PbCl4 2- selective electrode have be able to determine of Pb on artificial waste water that contain 5× 10-4 – 5× 10-2 M or 103.5 – 10350 ppm Pb which gave the error of ≤ 0.63 % and the advantages of this method is more simple, faster and cheaper than spectrophotometric method.
