Abstract
Limbah cair Industri Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) Kota Cirebon dihasilkan dari kegiatan industri dan memiliki kandungan zinc (Zn), oleh karena itu perlu diketahui tingkat toksisitasnya terhadap biota air melalui uji toksisitas akut dan kronis. Tujuan penelitian ini menguji tingkat toksisitas akut dan kronis limbah cair yang mengandung Zn terhadap Daphnia magna dan mengetahui konsentrasi limbah cair Zn yang aman bagi reproduksi dan morfometri Daphnia magna. Uji toksisitas akut dimulai dari uji pendahuluan untuk menentukan range pengujian lanjut dalam menentukan LC50. Uji toksisitas kronis dilakukan terhadap daya reproduksi dan morfometri Daphnia magna. Pengukuran faktor fisik-kimiawi limbah cair seng (Zn) artifisial yaitu BOD, COD, TSS, pH, suhu, konduktivitas dan parameter fisik-kimiawi medium uji Daphnia magna yaitu suhu, pH dan DO. Penentuan nilai LC50 toksisitas akut digunakan analisis korelasi aritmatik. Sedangkan terhadap daya reproduksi dan morfometri Daphnia magna digunakan Analisis Varians dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Kriteria tingkat toksisitas akut berdasarkan nilai LC50 menunjukkan sampel limbah cair Seng (Zn) artifisial termasuk dalam kategori amat sangat toksik, karena nilai LC50 pada kadar Zinc (Zn) sebesar 3,59 mg/L. Hasil uji toksisitas kronis limbah cair seng (Zn) artifisial dapat menurukan daya reproduksi Daphnia magna sedangkan pada perlakuan berbagai konsentrasi limbah dapat menghambat pertumbuhan panjang tubuh dan lebar tubuhnya.
English Abstract
Industrial wastewater of Steam Power (power plant) Cirebon resulting from support activities and contains Zn that could be toxic to water biota. Those, the toxicity of waste should be observed through acute and chronic toxicity test. The purpose of this study to test the level of acute and chronic toxicity of wastewater containing Zn to Daphnia magna and determine the concentration of Zn that is safe Daphnia magna’s reproduction and morphometry. Acute toxicity tests was started from a preliminary test then further tested to determine the LC50. Chronic toxicity test was conductedon reproducibility and morphometry of Daphnia magna. The measurement of physicalchemical factors of wastewater Zn, BOD, COD, TSS, pH, temperature, conductivity and physical-chemical parameters of Daphnia magna test medium such as temperature, pH and DO. The LC50 value was calculated using correlation analysis arithmetic. While on the power morphometry Daphnia magna reproduction and use Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with significance level of 0.05. Value according to the LC50 the samples was categoriezed as extremely toxic, with LC50 values of 3.59 mg / L. The result of chronic toxicity test of waste with showed that Zn concentration may lower the reproductive capability of Daphnia magna with average number of neonate produced into 35,8% until 81,3% and can inhibit the growth of body length and width of his body.
