Abstract
Erwinia carotovora adalah bakteri patogen penyebab busuk lunak pada tanaman yang mampu mengakibatkan kematian tanaman dalam waktu singkat. Pengendalian bakteri tersebut, salah satunya menggunakan biobakterisida yaitu teh kompos. Teh kompos adalah fermentasi kompos dalam air dengan waktu tertentu. Mekanisme pengendalian patogen oleh teh kompos diantaranya antibiosis dan antagonistik mikroba. Pembuatan teh kompos dilakukan secara aerobik dengan menggunakan kompos dari limbah baglog Jamur Tiram, air, molase, EM4, dan diberikan aerasi selama proses fermentasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan Teh kompos dalam menghambat Erwinia carotovora dan mengetahui karateristik kimia dan biologi Teh kompos Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor yaitu penambahan EM4 ( E) yang terdiri 4 level, yaitu ; E0= 0ml; E1 = 2,5 ml; E2= 7,5 ml; dan E3= 12,5 ml dan waktu fermentasi (T) yang terdiri dari 3 level, yaitu T1 =24 Jam; T2 = 48 Jam; dan T3=72 Jam, setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Menggunakan uji lanjut DMRT (α = 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pembuatan teh kompos, penambahan starter bakteri (EM4) dan waktu fermentasi berpengaruh pada kualitas teh kompos. Teh kompos diperoleh luasan zona bening berkisar 3,0 mm2 sampai 8,6 mm2. Uji karakteristik mikrobiologis total jamur hasil pengujian berkisar antara 2,0 x 103 CFU/ ml hingga 3,7 x 103 CFU/ml dan nilai total bakteri berkisar antara 7,9 x 108 CFU/ml hingga 9,4 x 108 CFU/ml. Karakteristik kimia teh kompos nilai pH berkisar antara 7,2 hingga 8,0, sedangakan karakter Dissolved Oxsygen (DO) berkisar antar 5,1 ppm hingga 7,4 ppm.
English Abstract
Erwinia carotovora is one of bacteria that can cause soft root disease in plant and it can harm plant to death in short time. A way that can handle this kind of bacteria is by using bio-bactericidal, such as compost tea. Compost tea is a fermented compost in water media and incubated for several times. The mechanism to destroy pathogenic bacteria is by using antibiotic and antagonistic microbes. Compost tea making uses aerobic technique during fermentation process with spent oyster mushroom substrate as the raw material, and the addition materials are water, spent Oyster mushroom substrate, EM4 and molasses. The aim of this research is to know how the ability of compost tea in inhibiting Erwinia carotovora is and to know the chemical and biological characteristics of the compost tea. This research use Randomized Block Design with 2 factors. The first factor is addition of EM4 (E) which consists of 4 levels: E0= 0ml; E1 = 2.5 ml; E2= 7.5 ml; and E3= 12.5 ml and the second factor is duration time of fermentation (T), which consists of 3 levels: T1 = 24; T2 = 48 ; and T3 = 72 hours, every trial is replicated for 3 times. Continuous with DMRT significantly affect (α=0.05). Based on the results of this research, it is known that the addition of EM4 bacteria starter and duration time of fermentation affect the quality of compost teas. The compost teas have inhibition zone range between 3.0 mm2 to 8.6 mm2. From microbiological analysis, it is known that the compost teas have value of total fungi between 2.0 x 103 CFU/ ml to 3.7 x 103 CFU/ml and total bacteria value between 7.9 x 108 CFU/ml to 9.4 x 108 CFU/ml. From chemical characteristic analysis, it is known that compost teas have pH value between 7.2 to 8.0 and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) value between 5.1 ppm to 7.4 ppm.
