Abstract

Untuk mempertanggungjawabkan hasil akhir dari masa perkuliahannya seorang mahasiswa harus mampu membuat suatu karya penelitian yang bersifat bersifat ilmiah, rasional, objektif dan informatif. Dalam proses kegiatan pelaksanaan skripsi, mahasiswa dengan persetujuan dari pihak fakultas dapat memilih dan berkonsultasi terlebih dahulu dengan seorang dosen yang dianggap berkompenten dan sesuai dengan bidang penelitian yang akan dipilihnya. Dosen yang dipilih tersebut diharapkan dapat diberikan tanggungjawab untuk membimbing mahasiswa, sesuai kesediannya, dan mahasiswa itu sendiri ditugaskan menyelesaikan proses bimbingannya tepat waktu minimal 2 minggu sekali, dan mahasiswa tersebut dibimbing oleh dua dosen pembimbing skripsi. Dengan demikian kegiatan penelitian yang dilaksanakan mahasiswa dalam proses pelaksanaan skripsi, dapat di pantau dan di evaluasi langsung oleh dosen pembimbing. Menurut data yang diperoleh jumlah mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya saat ini terdiri atas program Diploma (S-0) sebanyak 2.228 orang, program sarjana (S-1) sebanyak 57.311 orang, program magister (S-2) sebanyak 2.703 orang, program profesi sebanyak 304 orang, program spesialis (Sp-1) sebanyak 292 orang, dan program Doktor (S-3) sebanyak 1.199 orang. Sehingga proses bimbingan skripsi dianggap penting guna menghindari berlebihnya jumlah mahasiswa. Proses penelitian dan perancangan dalam sistem bimbingan online skripsi, mengacu pada Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), dengan penerapan metode yang digunakan ialah Linear Sequential (waterfall) model. Untuk pengujian sistem, sistem bimbingan online skripsi ini menggunakan pengujian fungsional blackbox dan hasil ujinya diolah dengan sistem validasi. Pengujian berikutnya ialah pengujian usability dimana didalamnya menggunakan penerapan User Acceptence Testing (UAT), dan hasil ujinya diolah menggunakan perhitungan skala likert.

English Abstract

To account for the final results of the period lecturing a college student should be able to create a work of research that is scientific, rational, objective and informative. In the process of making the essay, a student with approve from the faculty can choose and consult earlier with a lecturer that assumed to be competent and right with their fields of the research that they choose. The chosen lecturer is hoped could gave responsibility to guide the student according to their readiness and the student have task to complete the guidance process in time minimum per 2 weeks each, and every student is given 2 supervisors (e.g the guiding lecturer) each. Therefore, the research activity done by the student in the process of making essay could be maintained and evaluated directly by the supervisor. Based on provided data, Brawijaya University nowadays is composed of Diploma Program with 2,228 students, bachelor program (S-1) with 57,311 students, magistrate program (S-2) with 2,703 students, profession programs with 304 students, specialist programs (Sp-1) with 292 students, and Doctoral programs with 1,199 students. So the process of thesis guidance is considered essential in order to avoid excessive number of students. Research and design in the online guidance of essay refers to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with applicated method used is Linear Sequential (waterfall) model. As for system testing, this online essay guidance system use blackbox functional testing and the testing result is processed with validation system. Next testing is usability testing which use User Acceptance Testing (UAT) inside, and the testing result processed use likert scale calculation.
