Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah penduduk di sekitar Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Brantas Hilir mengakibatkan penurunan kualitas air karena peningkatan kegiatan penduduk disekitarnya. Limbah dari kegiatan tersebut langsung dibuang kesungai tanpa pengolahan terlebih dahulu. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi air pada Sungai Brantas(Mojokerto Surabaya) tahun 2010-2014. Data yang digunakan dari Balai Besar Sungai Brantas (BBWS) dengan periode pengambilan data 3 bulan sekali melalui 5 titik pemantauan selanjutnya dianalisa dengan Metode Water Quality Index (WQI) dan Metode STORET. Parameter yang digunakan berdasarkan Keputusan Mentri Kesehatan No. 907 tahun 2002 yaitu temperatur, TSS, TDS, DO, COD, BOD, pH, Ammonia (NH3-N), fosfat, Total coli. Parameter tersebut dianalisa dengan Peraturan Pemerintah No.82 tahun 2001 dan hasilnya menunjukan sebagian besar parameter yang tidak memenuhi standar baku mutu adalah TSS, BOD, fosfat, Total coli. Hasil analisa kualitas air menurut Metode WQI periode bulanan 40% tercemar ringan (kelas 3), 10% tercemar sedang (kelas 4), 25% tercemar berat (kelas 5), dan 25% kotor (kelas 6). Periode tahuanan 32% tercemar ringan (kelas 3), 36% tercemar sedang(kelas 4), 4% tercemar berat (kelas 5), dan 28% kotor (kelas 6). Pada musim penghujan 48% tercemar ringan (kelas 3), 24% tercemar sedang (kelas 4), 28% kotor (kelas 6), musim kemarau 36% tercemar ringan (kelas 3), 24% tercemar sedang (kelas 4), 16% tercemar berat (kelas 5), 24% kotor (kelas 6).Menurut Metode STORET periode bulanan 15% tercemar sedang (kelas C), dan 85% tercemar berat (kelas D). Periode tahunan, musim penghujan dan musim kemarau presentasenya 100% tercemar berat (kelas D). Hasil perhitungan dengan Metode STORET tidak memenuhi standar baku mutu yang di tetapkan oleh Keputusan Gurbernur Jawa Timur No. 61 tentang peruntukan sungai di Jawa Timur.

English Abstract

An increasing number of residents in the surrounding Brantas Downstream Watersheds resulting in decreased water quality due to the increased activities of the surrounding population. Waste of these activities discharged directly into the river without processing it first. This study aims to determine the Brantas River (Mojokerto Surabaya) since 2010-2014. The data were taken from BBWS that collected every 3 months through 5 monitoring point then be analyzed with Water Quality Index (WQI) and STORET Method. The parameters used are based on the decision of the Ministry of Health regulation No. 907 2002 are temperature, TSS, TDS, DO, COD, BOD, pH, Ammonia (NH3-N), phosphate, Total coli. These parameters were analyzed by Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 and show the majority parameters that didn’t equivalent with standard regulation are TSS, BOD, phosphate, Total coli. The results shows that for monthly period WQI Method 40% light polluted ( 3rd), 10% are polluted (4 rd), 25% heavy polluted (5 rd), and 25% gross (6 rd). annually period 32% light polluted (3 rd), 36% are polluted (4 rd), 4% heavy polluted (5 rd), and 28% gross (6 rd). In rainy season 48% light polluted (3 rd), 24% are polluted (4 rd), 28% gross (6 rd), 36% of summer light polluted (3 rd), 24% are polluted (4 rd), 16% heavy polluted (5 rd), 24% gross (6 rd). According to the monthly period STORET Method 15% being polluted (class C), and 85% of heavy polluted (grade D). The annual period, the rainy season and the dry season presentasenya 100% heavy polluted (class D). The analyzed with STORET method almost did’n meet with the basic standards application that assigned by East Java Government No. 61about the river in East Java.
