Abstract
Dalam bidang industri perkakas ataupun permesinan saat ini sudah banyak mempertimbangkan penggunaan material yang memiliki ketahanan terhadap korosi cukup baik dan kekuatan yang baik.. Aluminium menjadi salah satu material yang mudah dibentuk dengan berbagai proses manufaktur. Namun proses pengelasan cair sulit diterapkan pada aluminium disebabkan titik cair aluminium yang cukup rendah juga daya hantar aluminium yang tinggi sehingga dilakukan suatu metode pengelasan khusus yaitu proses las gesek (friction welding). Salah satu solusi yang paling tepat untuk menyambungkan aluminium adalah proses pengelasan gesek. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh burn-off length dan tinggi kerucut satu sisi terhadap porositas dan kekerasan sambungan las gesek A6061. Variasi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tinggi kerucut sebesar 0 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm dan 3 mm, serta burn-off length sebesar 3 mm, 5 mm dan 7 mm. Dari analisa yang telah dilakukan, didapat nilai porositas tertinggi dihasilkan pada tinggi kerucut 3 mm burn-off length 7 mm sebesar 0,1004 % dan porositas terendah pada tinggi kerucut 0 mm burn-off length 3 mm sebesar 0,0124 %. Untuk kekerasan, nilai kekerasan rata – rata tertinggi terjadi pada tinggi kerucut 0 mm burn-off length 3 mm sebesar 79,12 HV dan nilai kekerasan rata - rata terendah pada tinggi kerucut 3 mm burn-off length 7 mm sebesar 56,52 HV.
English Abstract
In the field of industrial tools or machining are now widely considered the use of material that has a quite good corrosion resistance and strength. Aluminium become one of the materials which is easily qualified because it’s formed by various manufacturing processes. However, the conventional welding process is applied to the aluminum is difficult due to the melting point of aluminum is quite low also conductivity thermal of aluminum is high so it needs to be done a spesific welding method which is the process of friction welding). This research was conducted in order to determine effect of burn-off length and single-cone toward porosity and hardness of friction weld-joint A6061. Variations were used in this study was single cone with height at 0 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm, and burn-off length 3 mm, 5 mm and 7 mm. From the analysis that has been done, obtained the highest porosity values generated at the single-cone 3 mm burn-off length 7 mm by 0.1004% and the lowest porosity at the single-cone 0 mm burn-off length of 3 mm by 0.0124%. For hardness value, obtained highest averaging hardness value at single-cone 3 mm burn-off length 7 by 79.12 HV and lowest averaging hardness value at single- cone 3 mm burn-off length 7 mm by 56.52 HV.
