Abstract

Ular boa merupakan hewan ectotherm atau hewan yang berdarah dingin yang dimana suhu tubuhnya sangat bergantung terhadap perubahan suhu lingkungannya. Oleh karena itu, suhu lingkungan kandang berperan besar dalam perkembangan ular boa. Kandang ular memiliki syarat kelayakan dan standar tertentu, misalnya ukuran yang pada umumnya, suhu, gradien suhu serta kelembaban. Jika kondisi kandang tidak sesuai dengan syarat dan kelayakan, maka proses perkembangan ular akan terhambat. Oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini, dibuat miniatur kandang ular yang dapat merekayasa 2 kondisi lingkungan dalam 1 area kandang. Setpoint suhu yang digunakan adalah 27 oC untuk suhu normal dan 34 oC untuk suhu jemur ular boa. Sistem Pengaturan yang digunakan adalah pengaturan loop tertutup. Pengaturan loop tertutup ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan level suhu didalam miniatur kandang ular agar sesuai dengan level suhu yang diinginkan. Metode pengaturan ini menggunakan kontroler ON-OFF untuk mempercepat proses penambahan dan pengurangan suhu pada kandang ular. Mikrokontroler yang digunakan adalah Arduino Mega 2560. Hasil pengujian yang dilakukan menggunakan kontroler on-off terhadap sistem mampu mempertahankan level suhu normal selama 240 detik atau 4 menit dan suhu jemur selama 245 detik atau 4 menit.

English Abstract

Boa is ectotherm animal or cold-blooded animals in which the body temperature is very dependent on temperature changes in the environment. Therefore, the ambient temperature of the cage plays a major role in the development of a boa constrictor. Cages of snakes have specific eligibility requirements and standards, such as size in general, temperatures, temperature gradients and humidity. If the stable conditions incompatible with the requirements and feasibility, then the snake development process will be hampered. Therefore, in this study, made miniature snake cages that can manipulate two ambient temperature conditions in one area of the enclosure. Setpoint temperature used was 27 ° C for normal temperature and 34 ° C for drying temperature boa. System settings used are closed-loop arrangement. This closed-loop arrangement aims to compare the level of temperature inside the enclosure miniature snake to fit the desired temperature level. This applied method using ON-OFF controller to accelerate the process of increasing and decreasing the temperature in the snake cage. The microcontroller used is Arduino Mega 2560. The results of tests performed using the controller on-off of the system is able to maintain a normal temperature level during 240 seconds or 4 minutes and the temperature drying for 245 seconds or 4 minutes.
