Abstract
PT. Tiara Kurnia Malang adalah perusahaan yang memproduksi pesanan pupuk organik dengan merek Petroganik. PT. Tiara Kurnia menggunakan gudang sebagai tempat penyimpanan produk hingga produk diambil oleh pihak pemesan. Berdasarkan pengecekan ulang produk pada tanggal 16 oktober 2013, terdapat 1000 sak produk hasil produksi bulan November 2012 yang masih tersimpan di dalam gudang mengalami penyusutan berat sebesar kurang lebih 3 kg tiap sak. Hal tersebut terjadi karena penataan produk yang masih acak sesuai adanya ruang kosong di dalam gudang, kesulitan akses penataan dan pengambilan produk dalam gudang, kesulitan penataan produk dalam tumpukan danpengambilan produk yang masih acak sesuai dengan keterjangkauan oleh pekerja di gudang. Penelitian ini merancang pengendalian barang di gudang sesuai dengan metode First In First Out (FIFO). Pemilihan metode FIFO tersebut sesuai dengan karakteristik produk yang mempunyai umur sebelum produk tersebut menyusut beratnya. Pengendalian barang sesuai FIFO tidak dapat berjalan tanpa adanya tata letak dengan aksesibilitas produk yang memadai. Perancangan Pallet Racking System digunakan untuk mengatasi kesulitan penumpukan produk. Perancangan tata letak usulan berdasarkan hasil dari rancangan Pallet Racking System. Perancangan tata letak digunakan untuk mengatasi kesulitan akses produk di gudang. Pemilihan tata letak usulan terbaik berdasarkan perbandingan luas gang yang diperlukan untuk jenis forklift yang dipakai dengan luas gudang keseluruhan. Perancangan pengendalian barang sesuai metode FIFO berdasarkan hasil rancangan tata letak terpilih. Hasil analisis dari rancangan Pallet Racking System menunjukan total ketinggian yang dapat dipakai untuk penyimpanan sebesar 4,5 meter dan dapat menampung 4 tingkat palet sebanyak 140 sak. Hasil analisis dari rancangan tata letak menunjukan tata letak usulan mempunyai persentase perbandingan area penyimpanan yang dapat diakses sebesar 100% atau dapat dikatakan keseluruhan area penyimpanan mempunyai akses,dibandingkandengantataletaksaatinihanyasebesar 25,2%. Hasil analisis dari pemilihan tata letak usulan terbaik menunjukan tata letak terpilih menggunakan forklift jenis reach truck. Tata letak yang terpilih mempunyai 44 rack bays dengan kapasitas penyimpanan sebesar 12.320 sak. Hasil analisis rancangan pengendalian barang menunjukan metode FIFO dapat berjalan. Pengendalian barang dirancang pada 3 aktivitas utama yaitu aktivitas penerimaan, penyimpanan, dan pengambilan. Pengendalian barang menggunakan papan kendali sebagai pengontrol lokasi produk di gudang. Pada papan kendali terdapat tanda merah menunjukan lokasi rak selanjutnya yang harus diisi dalam aktivitas penyimpanan dan tanda biru menunjukan lokasi rak selanjutnya yang harus diambil dalam aktivitas pengambilan.
English Abstract
PT. Tiara Kurnia Malang is a company which produces organic fertilizer under the brand of Petroganik. PT. Tiara Kurnia uses a warehouse as a place to keep the finished product until the product is taken by the buyer. Based on the rechecking product on the 16th of Oktober 2013, there are 1000 bags of product that produced on November 2012 that is still stored in the warehouse and got weight shrinkage approximately 3 kg in every bag. This shrinkage happens because of product placement is still unorganized which is placed in the empty space in the warehouse, access difficulity for storing and taking product, difficult to store and organize product in stacksand the taking of the product is still unordered as long as it is reachable by the workers in warehouse. This study is to design material control in warehouse that suitable with First In First Out (FIFO) method. The selection of FIFO method is in accordance with the characteristic of product which has an age before the weight of the product would shrink. The material control which suitable to FIFO can not work without a layout with a sufficient accessibility to products. Pallet racking system is used to overcome the difficulty to store and organize product in stacks. Layout design is based on the result of pallet racking system design. Layout design is used to overcome the difficult access of products in the warehouse. Selection of the best layout based on the ratio of the necessary aisle area for chosen forklift type with the total area of the warehouse.The material control design which is suitable for FIFO method is based on the best design layout selected. The result of pallet racking system analysis shows the maximum height that can be used for storage is 4,5 meter and able to accomodate 4 pallet stacks of 140 bags stored. The result of analysis of layout design shows that the alternative layouts have percentage ratio of storage area that can be 100%accessed,in other hand all the storage area is accessible, it is compared with current layout has only 25,2%. The result of analysis of the selection of the best layout shows the best layout uses reach truck for the type of forklift. The best layout has 44 rack bays with able to stores 12.320 bags. The result of analysis of the material control design shows the FIFO method can work properly. The material control is designed in 3 main activities; that is receiving, storing, and retrieving activity. The material control uses the control board as the location controller of products in the warehouse. On the control board there is a red mark showing the location of the next rack to be filled in storage activity and a blue mark showing the location of the next rack to be taken in the retrieving activity.
