Abstract
Peranti ortodonti digunakan untuk meningkatkan estetika, fungsi oklusal dan kesehatan gigi jangka panjang. Peranti yang digunakan untuk merawat maloklusi salah satunya adalah peranti ortodonti. Pemakaian peranti ortodonti cenderung menimbulkan respon pada jaringan lunak yakni gingiva. Maka dari itu status kondisi klinis gingiva harus dirumuskan secara akurat dengan diukur secara kuantitatif yakni didasarkan pada sistem indeks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh lama pemakaian peranti ortodonti lepasan terhadap status kesehatan gingiva. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian observasional dengan pendekatan metode studi penelusuran sesaat. Sampel berjumlah 38 anak berusia 7-12 tahun dengan kriteria minimal 3 bulan pemakaian peranti. Analisis data menggunakan Uji Normalitas Shapiro-Wilk dan Uji Korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh lama pemakaian peranti ortodonti lepasan terhadap skor MGI adalah sebesar 0,436, dengan nilai signifikansi atau probabilitas sebesar 0,006 dimana lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi 0,15. Koefisien arah regresi pengaruh lama pemakaian peranti ortodonti lepasan terhadap skor MGI adalah negatif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pengaruh lama pemakaian peranti ortodonti lepasan terhadap skor MGI sebesar 0,436 sehingga terdapat pengaruh dari lama pemakaian peranti ortodonti lepasan terhadap skor MGI dan arah pengaruh lama pemakaian peranti ortodonti lepasan terhadap skor MGI adalah negatif sehingga semakin lama pemakaian peranti ortodonti lepasan maka menghasilkan skor MGI yang kecil dan begitu pula sebaliknya.
English Abstract
Orthodontic appliances are used to improve aesthetics, occlusal function and long-term dental health. Appliances used to improve malocclusions one of them are removable orthodontic appliances. The use of orthodontic appliances tends to cause a response to the soft tissues of the gingiva. Therefore the status of the gingival clinical condition must be formulated accurately by quantitative measurement based on the index system. This research aims to identify the effect of length of use of removable orthodontic appliances on the health status of the gingiva. The research design used was observational research with the approach of the method of cross sectional study. The number of samples 38 children aged 7-12 years with criteria of at least 3 months of use of the appliances. Data analysis used Shapiro-Wilk Normality Test and Spearman Correlation Test. The results showed that the effect of the duration of removable orthodontic appliances to MGI score was 0,436, with the significance or probability value of 0.006 was lower than the 0.15 significance level. The regression direction coefficient of the effect of time taken on removable orthodontic appliances to MGI score is negative. The conclusion of this research is the effect of length of use of removable orthodontic appliances to MGI score is 0,436 so there is influence from the duration of wearing orthodontic appliances to MGI score and the direction of the long-term effect of wearing orthodontic appliances on the MGI score is negative so that the longer the use of removable orthodontic appliances results in a small MGI score.
