Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Gading Kulon, Kecamatan Dau, Kabupaten Malang untuk penelitian lapang terhadap itik pedaging, dan Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Brawijaya untuk analisis uji mikroflora usus (BAL, Escherichia coli, dan Salmonella sp.) tanggal 28 Februari sampai dengan 9 April 2013. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian sari kunyit terhadap mikroflora usus pada itik pedaging. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan informasi bagi masyarakat, praktisi dan industri peternakan tentang pengaruh pemberian sari kunyit (Curcuma domestica) dalam pakan terhadap jumlah mikroflora usus itik pedaging. Materi penelitian ini adalah sari kunyit, itik pedaging, antibiotik tetrasiklin dan pakan basal. Metode penelitian ini adalah percobaan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dan diulang empat kali. Penelitian dilakukan dengan penambahan sari kunyit ke dalam pakan basal yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan, yaitu : pakan basal (P0), pakan basal+antibiotik tetrasklin (300 mg/kg pakan/ekor/hari) (P1), pakan basal+0,7 ml/ekor/hari (P2), pakan basal+1,4 ml/ekor/hari (P3), dan pakan basal+2,1 ml/ekor/hari (P4). Tiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali, dan tiap ulangan terdiri dari 6 ekor. Variabel yang diuji adalah jumlah mikroflora usus (BAL, Escherichia coli dan Salmonella sp.) itik pedaging. Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian sari kunyit pada itik hibrida memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap mikroflora usus baik BAL, Escherichia coli maupun Salmonella sp. Populasi BAL tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan P2 (8,35 CFU/g), sedangkan populasi Escherichia coli dan Salmonella sp. terendah dicapai berturut-turut pada P4 (5,35 CFU/g) dan P2 (4,08 CFU/g). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian bahwa perlakuan pemberian sari kunyit P2 (0,7 ml/ekor/hari) secara per oral memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada mikroflora usus halus itik pedaging. Saran penelitian ini disarankan dalam penggunaan sari kunyit 0,7 ml/ekor/hari untuk meningkatkan Bakteri Asam Laktat (BAL) dan menurunkan Salmonella sp.

English Abstract

The research was carried out from 28th of February to 9th of April 2013, field experiment was done in Gading Kulon village, Dau while laboratory analysis of the number of microflora was carried out in the laboratory of microbiology, Faculty of Medicine University of Brawijaya, Malang. The purpose of the research was to determine effect of tumeric extract on the number of intestinal microflora in broiler. The materials of this research were Tumeric extract, broiler duck, tetrachlor antibiotic and basal feed. Method used was experiment consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications with 6 ducks each replication. The treatments were namely P0 (basal feed), P1 (basal feed+tetrachlor 300mg/kg), P2 (basal feed+0.7 ml/duck/day per oral curcuma extract), P3 (basal feed+1.4 ml/duck/day per oral tumeric extract) and P4 (basal feed+2.1 ml/duck/day per oral tumeric extract). The variables in this research were the number of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp, respectively. The method of this research was experiment arranged in Completely Randomized Design and if there was a different effect among the treatments would be tested by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the treatments very significantly affected (P<0,01) the number of intestinal microflora (LAB, Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp). The highest number of LAB was for P2 (8.35 CFU/g), while the lowest Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp were P4 (5.43 CFU/g) and P2 (4.08 CFU/g), respectively. It is concluded that the use of P2 (per oral 0.7 ml/duck/day) gave the best effect on the number of intestinal microflora. It is sugeested to use 0.7ml/duck/day per oral of tumeric extract to increase the number of LAB and Salmonella sp.
