Abstract
Potensi Ultisol di Kalimantan Timur untuk pengembangan pertanian tanaman pangan dihadapkan pada kendala ketersediaan fosfor akibat rendahnya pH tanah dan tingginya kelarutan unsur aluminium (Al). Perbaikan kesuburan tanah dengan meningkatkan ketersediaan P dapat dilakukan dengan Kompos Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit (KTKKS), dan abu terbang batubara (ATB) Namun demikian, ketersediaan ATB dan KTKKS yang berlimpah belum pernah dimanfaatkan untuk perbaikan produktivitas Ultisol. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mempelajari pengaruh kombinasi aplikasi abu terbang batubara (ATB) dan kompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit (KTKKS) terhadap ketersediaan fosfor pada Ultisol dari Kalimantan Timur dan produksi tanaman jagung. Penelitian dilakukan di laboratorium Biologi Tanah, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya dan rumah plastik di daerah Tlogomas pada bulan Juli 2017 - Juli 2018. Bahan penelitian yang digunakan adalah tanah (Ultisol Kalimantan Timur), kompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit (KTKKS), dan abu terbang batubara (ATB). Percobaan kombinasi ATB dan KTKKS terdiri atas 7 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Penelitian dilakukan dalam 2 (dua) tahap, yaitu (1) percobaan inkubasi di laboratorium, dan (2) percoban pertumbuhan tanaman jagung di rumah kaca. Percobaan tahap 1 (inkubasi di laboratorium) dilakukan dalam kondisi tidak tercuci (non-leaching incubation) berlangsung selama 42 hari. Pengamatan yang dilakukan meliputi (1) pH tanah tersedia diamati pada 0, 3, 7, 21, 42 hari setelah inkubasi (HSI, (2) P tanah tersedia diamati pada 0, 3, 7, 21,42 HSI, dan (3) sifat kimia tanah pendukung: C-organik, P total, Al-dd diamati pada pada 42 HSI. Percobaan pertumbuhan di rumah kaca (tahap 2), dilakukan dengan menumbuhkan tanaman jagung dengan perlakuan yang sama dengan penlitin tahap 1. Tinggi tanaman diamati setiap minggu. Pada saat panen (umur 90 hari), diamati luas daun, berat kering brangkasan (tajuk dan akar), berat jagung dengan tongkol, dan berat tongkol tanpa kelobot Hasil inkubasi tanah menunjukkan terjadi penurunan kadar Al-dd pada tanah, peningkatan P-Total, dan P-Tersedia. Kombinasi aplikasi abu terbang batubara (ATB) dan kompos tandan kelapa sawit (KTKKS) tidak berpengaruh nyata pada pH tanah, C-Organik tanah dan kapasitas menahan air tanah. Hasil percobaan penanaman di rumah plastic menunjukkan pemberian ATB dan KTKKS tidak berpengaruh nyata pada parameter tinggi tanaman, luas daun 12 MST, berat brangkasan, berat togkol berkelobot, dan berat tongkol tanpa kelobot.
English Abstract
The potential of Ultisol soil, especially in East Kalimantan, for the development of food crop agriculture is faced with constraints on phosphorus availability due to low soil pH and high solubility of aluminum (Al). Enhancement of soil fertility by increasing the availability of P can be done with Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (KTKKS), and coal fly ash (ATB). However, abundant availability of ATB and KTKKS has never been used to improve Ultisol productivity. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of a combination application of coal fly ash (ATB) and oil palm empty fruit bunches (KTKKS) on the availability of phosphorus in Ultisol from East Kalimantan and its impact on the production of corn. The research was conducted in the Soil Biology laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University and plastic houses in the Tlogomas area in July 2017 - July 2018. The research materials used were soil (East Kalimantan Ultisol), oil palm empty fruit bunch compost (KTKKS), and fly ash. coal (ATB). The combination test of ATB and KTKKS consisted of 7 treatments with 3 replications. The research was carried out in 2 (two) stages, namely (1) incubation experiments in the laboratory, and (2) trial of the growth of corn plants in the greenhouse. Phase 1 experiments (incubation in the laboratory) carried out in non-leaching incubation took place for 42 days. Observations made included (1) available soil pH observed at 0, 3, 7, 21, 42 days after incubation (HSI, (2) available soil P was observed at 0, 3, 7, 21.42 HSI, and (3) chemical properties of supporting soil: C-organic, total P, Al-dd were observed at 42 HSI, growth experiments in the plastic house (stage 2), were carried out by growing maize plants with the same treatment as stage 1. The plant height was observed every week. At the harvest time (age 90 days), leaf area, dry weight of stover (canopy and root), corn weight with cob, and corn weight without cob were observed. The results of soil incubation showed a decrease in Al-dd levels in the soil, an increase in P-Total, and P-Available. the combination application of coal fly ash (ATB) and oil palm bunches compost (KTKKS) did not have a significant impact on soil pH, and soil C-Organic. The results of the experiment in the plastic house showed that ATB and KTKKS were not significantly different in the parameters of plant height, leaf area of 12 MST, weight of stover, corn weight with cob, and corn weight without cob.
