Abstract
Skripsi ini berjudul Retorika Kritik Sosial Stand Up Comedy Abdur Arsyad. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan unsur retorika ethos, pathos dan logos serta alasan mengapa Abdur Arsyad menyampaikan kritik sosial melalui penampilan stand up comedy-nya pada kompetisi Stand Up Comedy Indonesia season IV yang ditayangkan oleh Kompas TV. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan konsep retorika Aristoteles. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Abdur telah menerapkan unsur-unsur retorika dan memuat materi kritik sosial pada penampilan stand up comedy-nya. Dari hasil penelitian pada unsur ethos, Abdur berhasil menerapkan apa yang dikatakan Aristoteles bahwa kredibilitas dapat dilihat dari 3 aspek yaitu, intelegensi, karakter dan niat baik melalui untuk menyampaikan kiritk sosial melalui penampilan stand up comedy-nya. Unsur pathos ditampilkan dalam reaksi penonton terhadap penampilan stand up comedy Abdur. Unsur pathos tersebut juga didukung oleh unsur pathos, dimana unsur pathos dalam stand up comedy Abdur merupakan argumen-argumen logis dan masuk akal yang mampu memperkuat materi kritik sosial yang ada pada penampilan stand up comedy-nya. Alasan Abdur menyampaikan kritik sosial melalui stand up comedy yaitu karena menurut Abdur panggung stand up comedy adalah tempat ideal bagi dirinya untuk menyampaikan argumen-argumen dan pandangannya mengenai kehidupan.
English Abstract
This study entitled Rhetoric of Social Critisism in Abdur Arsyad’s Stand Up Comedy. This study aims to determine the application of ethos rhetoric elements, pathos and logos and the reason why Abdur Arsyad present social criticism through his stand up comedy show on Stand Up Comedy Indonesia season IV which was broadcasted by Kompas TV. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method using Aristotelian rhetoric concept. The results of this study indicate that Abdur has applied the elements of rhetoric and contains material social criticism on the appearance of his stand up comedy. From the results of research on elements of ethos, Abdur managed to apply what Aristotle said that credibility can be seen from 3 aspects, namely, intelligence, character and good intentions through to deliver social kiritk through the appearance of his stand up comedy. The pathos element is displayed in the audience reaction to the stand up comedy Abdur appearance. The pathos element is also supported by the pathos element, where the pathos element in stand up comedy Abdur are logical and reasonable arguments that can reinforce social criticism material in the stand up comedy. The reason Abdur presents social criticism material in a stand up comedy show is because stage is a ideal place for him to deliver his arguments and his views on life.
