Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengelompokan “site” di sepanjang aliran Sungai Torong Kelurahan Temas, Kota Batu, Jawa Timur berdasarkan komunitas makrozoobenthos yang ditemukan, yang dilakukan pada akhir bulan April 2006-Desember 2006. Proses identifikasi dilakukan di laboratorium Fakultas Perikanan Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Lokasi penelitian terbagi menjadi 16 lokasi pengambilan sampel berdasarkan metode survei. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan jaring tangan ukuran 20x30 cm, ukuran mata jaring 500 μm dan dengan teknik kicking sepanjang 10 m di daerah riffle. Analisis data dihitung dengan menggunakan program TWINSPAN guna mengelompokan “site” di sepanjang aliran Sungai Torong menjadi 6 “group of site” (A, B, C, D, E dan F). Berdasarkan analisis data dapat diketahui bahwa taksa yang melimpah hampir diseluruh stasiun pengambilan sampel adalah Chironomus thummi, Tubificidae dan Thiaridae sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Sungai Torong telah mengalami degradasi dan perlu segera direhabilitasi.

English Abstract

The aimed of this research is to make classification of sites along Torong River outflow at Temas District, Batu City, East Java based on macrozoobenthos communities. This research was carried out from end of April till December 2006 using survey methods within 16 different sites on the stream. Sortation and identifications of macrozoobenthos were done at the Faculty of Fisheries, Brawijaya University. Macrozoobenthos are collected by kicking technique, with net 20x30 cm and 500 μm mesh size in every 10 m area of stream. Data analysis was done by TWINSPAN programme. Based on the analysis result, Torong River can be classified into 6 different group of sites (A, B, C, D, E and F). The result shown that all group of sites dominated by Chironomus thummi, Tubificidae and Thiaridae. The Torong River has been considered to have degradation in its quality and it is recommended to rehabilate the rivers.
