Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran komparasi sosial dengan body imagepada perempuan yang mengalami obesitas. Responden penelitian ini adalah perempuan berusia lebih dari 15 tahun yang mengalami obesitas dengan IMT > 25. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 314 responden. Dalam pengambilan data, peneliti menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan dua skala yaitu skala komparasi sosial dan MBRSQ versi Indonesia. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana variabel komparasi sosial memiliki peran yang signifikan terhadap masing-masing dari parameter variabel body image dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0.000 (p < 0.005). Peran yang dihasilkan bernilai positif yang artinya apabila terjadi peningkatan pada variabel komparasi sosial atau komparasi sosial dianggap nol maka dapat meningkatkan setiap parameter body image.
English Abstract
This research aims to know the role of social comparison toward body image in obese woman. The respondents of this research were obese woman in 15 years old and above with BMI > 25. The respondents of this research were 314 respondents obese woman in Malang. The sampling technique of this research is using accidental sampling. Social comparison scale and MBSRQ (Multidimensional Body Self Relation Questionnaire) were used to measure this variables. The data analysis used in this research was Regression Linear analysis. The result of this research found that the variables of social comparison and body image obtain a role toward the dimension of body image with a significant value of 0.000 (sig < 0.05), which means there is a positive role between variables so that the higher the social comparison, the higher the body image.
