Abstract

Letusan Gunung Kelud terakhir pada tanggal 14 Februari 2014 berdampak negatif terhadap lahan pertanian di Ngantang. Bahan letusan vulkanik umumnya memiliki kandungan unsur hara yang rendah. Percobaan ini menggunakan 4 jenis bahan organik (daun ubi jalar, daun jagung, daun paitan, dan pupuk kandang sapi) dan 3 jenis tanaman pionir (A.pintoi, P.purpureum, dan T.diversifolia). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan bahan organik dengan dan tanpa tanaman pionir dapat meningkatkan kandungan N dan P dibandingkan kontrol. Aplikasi tanaman pionir tanpa bahan organik justru menurunkan kandungan N dan P bahan letusan vulkanik. Kandungan N-total tertinggi terdapat pada kombinasi pupuk kandang dengan tanaman pionir P. purpureum (22,1x10-3%). Sedangkan kandungan P-tersedia terdapat pada kombinasi pupuk kandang dan tanaman T. diversifolia (33,65 ppm). Hasil analisis kandungan N-total dan P-tersedia setelah aplikasi bahan organik dan tanaman pionir menunjukan hasil yang lebih rendah dibandingkan hasil analisis awal. Hal ini diduga karena adanya serapan tanaman dan proses pencucian yang biasanya terjadi pada bahan berpasir.

English Abstract

Late eruption of Mount Kelud on February 14, 2014 had negative impact on agricultural product in Ngantang. The eruption materials normally have low content of N and P. This research was then an attempt to use organic matters (leaves of sweet potato, maize leaves, Tithonia leaves, and cow manure) and wild plants (A.pintoi, P.purpureum, and T.diversifolia) locally available to improve. The result showed that application of organic matters whether it is combined with wild plants or not, increased the content of total N and available P. However their amount decreased, if wild plant introduced without organic matters, due to plant uptake. Organic matters in combination with wild plant treatments resulted in higher content of total N and available P. The highest content of total N and available P occurred in orgaic matters treatment with respectlively P. purpureum (22,1x10-3%) and T. diversifolia (33.65 ppm). The content of total N and available P were lower after 3 months incubation compared to initial stage. This was probably due to plant uptake and leaching process as normally occurred in sandy materials.
