Abstract
Permasalahan yang sering kali terjadi di pabrik gula mengenai kualitas bahan baku adalah terdapat bahan baku yang tidak sesuai standar bahan baku tebu dari petani tebu rakyat sehingga seringkali terjadi ketidakefektifan produksi sehingga mengakibatkan terjadinya pemborosan biaya dan pemborosan waktu. Adanya kualitas bahan baku tebu tidak sesuai dengan standart pada PG Kebon Agung dapat mempengaruhi nira pada proses produksi yang berimbas pada rendahnya produksi gula dan menurunnya kualitas produk yang dihasilkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor apasaja yang mempengaruhi kualitas bahan baku tebu pada PG Kebonagung Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Six Sigma yang meliputi tahap Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve dan Control. Tahap Control pada metode six sigma tidak dibahas pada penelitian ini karena merupakan implementasi secara nyata dari metode tersebut. Metode yang digunakan membutuhkan tools of quality sebagai alat analisis. Tools of quality yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar pengecekan, diagram pareto, peta kendali dan diagram sebab-akibat digunakan untuk mengukur seberapa banyak penyimpangan kualitas bahan baku tebu yang terjadi pada PG Kebon Agung lalu mendiskripsikannya untuk mencoba menemukan upaya-upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk memperbaiki kualitas. Hasil dari penelitian ini antara lain kerusakan bahan baku pada PG Kebon Agung didominasi oleh tebu terbakar dan tebu kotor dengan prosentase sebesar 1,32% dari total bahan baku yang diterima. Pengendalian kualitas baku tebu yang dilakukan oleh PG Kebon Agung terukur pada level sigma sebesar 4,40 dengan perhitungan rata rata DPMO sebesar 1288 deffect per million oppurtunity. Level tersebut sudah diatas level sigma industri nasional dengan nilai sigma sebesar 3,5 namun perbaikan harus tetap dilakukan karena tujuan dari metode six sigma adalah menekan kerusakan seminim mungkin. Faktor yang menyebabkan penyimpangan kualitas bahan baku pada PG Kebon Agung disebabkan oleh material tebu, kondisi lingkungan, metode dalam penebangan dan penerimaan tebu dan juga faktor tenaga kerja tebang. Strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatakan kuliatas bahan baku PG Kebon Agung berdasarkan diagram sebab-akibat faktor adalah dengan memperbaiki faktor tenaga kerja dan material dimana hal tersebut saling berkaitan dalam proses pengangkutan dan penerimaan tebu.
English Abstract
The problems that often occur in the sugar mills regarding the quality of raw materials is the uncertainty of raw material quality sugar cane from sugar cane farmer folk so often a production inefficiencies resulting wastage costs and wastage of time. Their quality of cane raw material does not match the standard in Kebon Agung mills might influence sap production processes which impact on the low production of sugar and the declining quality of the product. The purpose of this research is any factor that affects the quality of the raw material sugar cane in Kebon Agung mills. The method used in this research is the method includes the step of Six Sigma Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Phase Control on the six sigma method is not discussed in this research because it is a real implementation of the method. Tools of quality is used in this research that is the check sheet, Pareto diagram, control charts and caused-effect diagram is used to measure how many deviations quality raw material sugar cane occurred in Kebon Agung mills then describe it to try find measures that can be taken to improve quality. The results of this research include a breakdown of raw materials at Kebon Agung dominated by burned out sugar cane and dirty sugar cane with a percentage of 1.32% of the total raw material received. Quality control of raw which is conducted by Kebon Agung mills measured at sigma level of 4.40 with an average DPMO calculation for 1288 defect per million opportunity. That level is already above the level of the national industry but improvements must still be done for the purpose of the six sigma method is to reduce the damage to a minimum as can be done. Factors that cause deviations quality raw materials at Kebon Agung mills caused by sugar cane material, environmental conditions, methods of harvesting and cane reception and also the labor factor in logging. Strategies that can be done to increase the raw material kuliatas Kebon Agung based diagram of causal factors is to improve labor and material factors where it is interwoven in the process of transporting and receiving cane
