Abstract
Penggunaan mekanisasi pertanian berupa traktor dan alat pengolah tanah akan berdampak terhadap sifat fisik tanah yaitu penurunaan porositas tanah, peningkatan berat isi tanah, penurunan kemampuan tanah menyimpan air dan sulitnya akar tanaman tebu melakukan penetrasi di dalam tanah. Hal tersebut akan berdampak pada petumbuhan tanaman tebu pada fase vegetatif awal sehingga tanaman tidak tumbuh secara optimal. Blotong dan abu ketel merupakan limbah dari pabrik yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber bahan organik yanag dapat memperbaiki sifat fisik tanah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu: 1) Mengetahui pengaruh pengolahan tanah dan pemberian bahan organik (blotong dan abu ketel) terhadap porositas tanah. 2) Mengetahui pengaruh pengolahan tanah dan pemberian bahan organik (blotong dan abu ketel) terhadap pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman tebu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September hingga Desember 2013 mengunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas K0 = Kontrol ( Plowing 2 kali + Harrowing 1 kali + Furrowing 1 kali), K1 = (Plowing 2 kali + Harrowing 1 kali + Furrowing 1 kali blotong 40 t ha-1 dan abu ketel 40 t ha-1 disebar), K2 = (Plowing 1 kali + Harrowing 1 kali + Furrowing 1 kali blotong 40 t ha-1 dan abu ketel 40 t ha-1 disebar), K3 = (Subsoiling 2 kali + Harrowing 1 kali + Furrowing 1 kali blotong 40 t ha-1 dan abu ketel 40 t ha-1 disebar), K4 = (Subsoiling 2 kali + Harrowing 1 kali + Furrowing 1 kali blotong 40 t ha-1 dan abu ketel 40 t ha-1 dimasukkan dalam larikan). Pengamatan tersebut dilakukan pada pengamatan 0, 3, 6, dan 9 MST. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan K4 = (Subsoiling 2 kali + Harrowing 1 kali + Furrowing 1 kali blotong 40 t ha-1 dan abu ketel 40 t ha-1 dimasukkan dalam larikan) dapat memperbaiki sifat fisik tanah yaitu dapat meningkatkan porositas tanah dibandingkan perlakuan kontrol sebesar 50,2 %. Perlakuan tersebut juga dapat meningkatkan tinggi tanaman secara berturut-turut yaitu 10,13 cm; 17,35 cm; dan 34,59 cm.
English Abstract
The use of agricultural mechanization in the form of tractors and earth moving will affect the physical properties of the soil is soil porosity reduction, increase in soil bulk density, a decrease in the ability of the soil to store water and the difficulty of sugarcane plant roots to penetrate the soil. This will impact on the growth of sugarcane crop in the early vegetative phase so that the plants do not grow optimally. Fitler cake and boiler ash is a waste of a plant that can be used as a source of organic matter yanag can improve soil physical properties. Purpose of this study are: 1) Determine the influence of tillage and organic matter (filter cake and boiler ash) on the porosity of the soil. 2) Determine the influence of tillage and organic matter (filter cake and boiler ash) to the high growth of sugarcane. This study was conducted from September to December by using a randomized block design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Treatments consist of K0 = Control (Plowing 2 times + Harrowing 1 time + Furrowing 1 time), K1 = (Plowing 2 times + Harrowing 1 time + Furrowing 1 time filter cake 40 t ha-1 and boiler ash 40 t ha-1 spread), K2 = (Plowing 1 time + Harrowing 1 time + Furrowing 1 time + filter cake 40 t ha-1 and boiler ash 40 t ha-1 spread), K3 = (Subsoiling 2 times + Harrowing 1 time + Furrowing 1 time + filter cake 40 t ha-1 and boiler ash 40 t ha-1 spread), K4 = (Subsoiling 2 times + Harrowing 1 time + Furrowing 1 time + filter cake 40 t ha-1 and boiler ash 40 t ha-1 inserted in the bolt). The observation was made on observations of 0, 3, 6, and 9 MST. The results showed that treatment of K4 = (Subsoiling 2 times + Harrowing 1 time + Furrowing 1 time + filter cake 40 t ha-1 and boiler ash 40 t ha-1 inserted in the bolt) can improve soil physical properties that can increase the porosity of the soil compared to the control treatment that is equal to 50,2%. These treatments also can enhance plant height respectively are 10,13; 17,35; and 34,59 cm.
