Abstract
Bunsen burner merupakan sebuah alat pembakaran yang menghasilkan api laminar. Bunsen burner banyak digunakan dibidang penelitian, namun bunsen burner masih memiliki beberapa kelemahan, yaitu belum adanya standarisasi yang tetap dalam penggunaannya. Maka dari itu perlu diadakan standarisasi untuk penggunaan bunsen burner melalui karakteristik nyala api yang dihasilkan. Karakteristik nyala api laminer terdiri dari tinggi api, suhu nyala api, dan kecepatan nyala api laminar. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan penelitian karakteristik nyala api laminer menggunakan bunsen burner dengan variasi jarak ring dari ujung bunsen burner, dengan varian 0 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm, 15 mm. Bahan yang digunakan untuk ring adalah kuningan, dan efek perpindahan panas akan membawa perubahan pada karakteristik nyala api yang di hasilkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa ring mempengaruhi karakteristik nyala api yang dihasilkan oleh pembakaran gas metana pada bunsen burner. Semakin jauh posisi ring pada bunsen burner, nilai tinggi nyala api semakin meningkat, nilai kecepatan api laminar semakin menurun, dan nilai temperatur nyala api semakin menurun.
English Abstract
Bunsen burner is a combustion tool that produces laminar fire. Bunsen burner is widely used in the field of research, but bunsen burner still has some disadvantages, namely the lack of standardization that remains in its use. Therefore, it is necessary to standardize for the use of bunsen burner through the characteristics of the resulting flame. The characteristics of laminar flame consist of fire height, flame temperature, and laminar flame velocity. In this research, a characteristic study of laminer flame using ¬bunsen burner with variation of ring distance from bunsen burner tip, with variant 0 mm, 5 mm, 10mm, 15mm. The material used for the ring is coper, and the heat transfer effect will bring causes to the flame characteristics generated. The result of this research is that the ring affects the flame characteristics generated by the combustion of methane gas in bunsen burner. The further the position of the ring on the burner bunsen, the higher the height of the flame increases, the lower laminar fire speed decreases, and the flame temperature decreases.
