Abstract
Konsumsi gula atau permintaan gula dalam negeri terus meningkat, pada tahun 2014 kebutuhan gula mencapai 5.700 juta ton (Dirjenbun. 2013). Dalam industri gula terjadi permasalahan ditingkat petani tebu yang disebabkan oleh ketertinggalan teknologi produksi. Untuk meningkatkan produktivitas usahatani tebu, pemerintah berupaya melakukan inovasi yaitu menggunakan pembibitan tebu metode budchip. Inovasi pada pemakaian bibit tebu yang semula menggunakan metode bagal menjadi metode budchip. Keunggulan menggunakan metode budchip mampu membentuk 8-10 anakan. Sedangkan metode bagal anakan yang terbentuk 1-3 anakan saja tiap rumpun. Inovasi ini nantinya akan berhubungan dengan tingkat produksi yang dihasilkan baik dari kualitas (dilihat dari rendemen tebu) maupun kuantitas (jumlah produksi tebu per ha). Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain adalah menganalisis faktor sosial ekonomi yang mempengaruhi petani tebu terhadap metode pembibitan tebu budchip dan bagal dan menganalisis perbedaan pendapatan usahatani tebu antara metode pembibitan tebu budchip dan bagal. Pemilihan lokasi dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara sengaja di Desa Temu, Kecamatan Prambon, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah anggota kelompok tani Gotong-Royong yang melakukan usahatani tebu menggunakan metode budchip dan bagal di Desa Temu yang bekerjasama dengan PG. Watoetoelis. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Analisis deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis faktor social ekonomi yang mempengaruhi petani tebu mengadopsi metode pembibitan tebu budchip, sedang analisis kuantitatif digunakan terdiri dari analisis usahatani dan uji beda. Analisis usahatani digunakan untuk menganalisis biaya, penerimaan, dan pendapatan, sedangkan uji beda digunakan untuk menguji perbedaan pendapatan antara usahatani tebu metode budchip dengan usahatani tebu metode bagal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor sosial ekonomi mempengaruhi dalam usahatani tebu menggunakan metode pembibitan tebu budchip adalah umur petani, tingkat pendidikan, jumlah tanggungan rumah tangga, luas lahan, dan ada tidaknya pekerjaan sampingan mendorong petani untuk meningkatkan usahatani dengan menggunakan metode budchip. Hasil analisis uji beda menganalisis bahwa t-hitung (2,472) lebih besar dari t-tabel (1,729). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendapatan usahatani tebu metode budchip lebih besar dibandingkan dengan pendapatan usahatani tebu metode bagal. Dengan demikian diharapkan petani tebu mampu melakukan usahatani dengan mengadopsi metode pembibitan budchip untuk meningkatan pendapatan usahatani tebu, dan petani tebu yang masih menggunakan metode bagal beralih menggunakan metode budchip guna mendapat hasil yang maksimal.
English Abstract
The consumption and demand of sugar product in Indonesia has been tended to increase, in 2014, amount of sugar required is up to 5.700 million ton (Dirjenbun. 2013). There is a problem between sugar cane farmers in the sugar industries which is caused by the decline of technology production. To increase the productivity of sugar cane agriculture business, the government strives for looking the innovation to use budchid seed method. The innovation on this method is to replace the old one, Bagal method. The benefit of this method is can produce around 8-10 buds. While bagal method only produces 1-3 buds in every clump. This innovation will be related to the production of quantity (can be seen from sucrose content of sugar cane crop or sample) and quality (can be seen from the amount of sugar cane production per ha). The purpose of this research/study is to analyze the social economy factors that influence sugar cane farmer use budchid seed and bagal method and the differences income they get from those two methods. The object location in this study/research is Temu village, Prambon, Sidoarjo the population is come from the members of farmers Gotong-Royong group who plant sugar cane using budched seed and bagal method in Temu village in collaboration with PG. Watoetoelis. The analysis method used is qualitative descriptive and quantitative. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to analyze the social economic factors that influence sugar cane farmers adopt budchip seed method, while quantitative analysis is used to analyze the agriculture business and the differences test. The agriculture business analysis is used to analyze cost, revenue and income they get whereas the differences test is used to test the differences between sugar cane agriculture business using budchid and bagal method. The finding of this research/study shows that the social economic factors influence sugar cane farmers using budchid seed method are the age of the farmers, education level, the amount of cost living, wide area, and their side jobs motivate them to increase their agriculture business using budchid sheed method. The finding of differences test analysis shows that t-hitung (2,472) is much more t-tabel (1,729). This is show that H0 is refused and H1 is accepted. It then can be conclude that the income of the sugar cane agriculture business using budchip seed method is profitable than bagal method. From those, be provided that sugar cane farmer can do their agriculture business using budchip seed method to increase their income. For those who still use bagal method are highly expected to move using budchip seed method also to get maximum income.
