Abstract
Kendala dalam meningkatkan produksi buah-buahan adalah serangan hama lalat buah, karena kualitas dan kuantitas dapat dengan mudah menurun akibat beberapa serangan hama lalat buah. L alat buah dari marga Bactrocera , salah satunya adalah Bactrocera c arambolae Drew & Hancock (Diptera : Tephritidae). English Abstract
Constraints for increasing fruits production is fruit flies pest , because the quantity and quality of fruit can be easily d r opped by several fruit flies insect. The attack of genus Bactrocera , such as Bactrocera carambolae Drew & Hancock (Diptera: Tephritidae). Hence, in addition to agronomic obstacles B . Carambolae achieve is a major problem for the sustainability of fruits production. Pest control with chemical insecticides had led to problems. Therefore, pest control strategy was aimed by using environmental-friendly methods. Entomopathogenic fungus, Beauveria bassiana is a biocontrol agent that has great potential in controlling insects from Diptera order, include B. carambolae . Entomopathogenic fungus B. bassiana has wide range of results from egg, larva to adult stage. So, new application strategic methods is required. Compost that has previously been sprayed with a suspension of B. bassiana conidia could be used as a method for controlling B. carambolae , beside it used as media growth and a medium for the pupae B. carambolae .
