Abstract
Efek penggunaan bahan kimia membuat tanah menjadi keras, kemantapan agregat tanah rendah, nilai kapasitas tukar kation dalam tanah menurun, sehingga dalam waktu tertentu akan terjadi degradasi lahan. Upaya yang dilakukan adalah meningkatkan kandungan bahan organik tanah sehingga akan meningkatkan produktivitas tanah terdegradasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : (1) Mengetahui peran biochar sekam padi dan kompos dalam memperbaiki sifat fisik (kemantapan agregat) dan kimia (C-organik, pH, dan KTK) pada Alfisol Jatikerto. (2) Mengetahui kombinasi biochar sekam padi dengan kompos UB sebagai bahan pembenah tanah serta penunjang pertumbuhan tanaman jagung pada Alfisol dalam satu kali musim tanam. Penelitian dilakukan di rumah kaca (glass house) kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian, Desa Jatikerto, Kecamatan Kromengan, Kabupaten Malang, dilaksanakan bulan Februari 2013 hingga Mei 2013. Metode penelitian menggunakan RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap). Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu P = Tanah (Kontrol); P0 = Tanah + Biochar 10t/ha; P1 = Tanah + Biochar 15t/ha; P2 = Tanah + Biochar 20t/ha; P3 = Tanah + Kompos 15t/ha; P4 = Tanah + Biochar 10t/ha + Kompos 15t/ha; P5 = Tanah + Biochar 15t/ha + Kompos 15t/ha; P6 = Tanah + Biochar 20t/ha + Kompos 15t/ha. Diulang sebanyak lima kali. Jagung ditanam pada polybag ukuran 20x40cm (25kg). Parameter pengamatan adalah kemantapan agregat tanah, pH, KTK, C-organik, tinggi tanaman, dan jumlah daun. Analisa bahan dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisika dan Kimia Jurusan Tanah Universitas Brawijaya. Data yang diperoleh diuji secara statistik dengan uji BNT pada taraf 5%. Uji korelasi digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara parameter. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian biochar, kompos dan kombinasinya memberikan pengaruh nyata (p > 5%) terhadap peningkatan kemantapan agregat, Kapasitas Tukar Kation, dan C-organik tanah. Namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pH tanah, tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun pada 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, dan 60 HST.
English Abstract
The effect of the use of chemical materials make soil compaction, low aggregate of the soil, low CEC in the soil, resulting in land degradation will occur. Efforts are made is to increase the organic matter content of the soil so that it will increase the productivity of degraded lands. The purpose of this study is: (1) Determine the role of rice husk biochar and compost in improving the physical properties (aggregate stability) and chemical (C-organic, pH, and CEC) on Alfisol Jatikerto. (2) Determine the combination of rice husk biochar with compost as a soil improvement material for supporting growth of corn crops on Alfisol in one growing season. The study was conducted in the glass house experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture, Rural Jatikerto, Kromengan subdistrict, Malang, from February 2013 until May 2013. Methods This study uses CRD (completely randomized design). The treatment in this study P = Soil (Control); P0 = Soil + Biochar 10t/ha; P1 = Soil + Biochar 15t/ha; P2 = Soil + Biochar 20t/ha; P3 = Soil + Compost 15t/ha; P4 = Soil + Biochar 10t/ha + Compost 15t/ha; P5 = Soil + Biochar 15t/ha + Compost 15t/ha; P6 = Soil + Biochar 20t/ha + Compost 15t/ha. And five replications. Corn planted in polybags measuring 20x40cm (25kg). Parameters measured were soil aggregate stability, pH, CEC, C-organic, plant height and number of leaves. Laboratory analysis is carried out in the Department of Soil Physics and Chemistry UB. treatment The data obtained were statistically tested with LSD at the 5% level. Correlation test is used to determine the relationship between parameters. Results showed that addition of biochar, compost and combinations significant effect (p> 5%) of the increase in aggregate stability, cationic exchange capacity, and C-organic. But no significant effect on soil pH, plant height and number of leaves at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 days after planting.
