Abstract
Sistem pertanian yang intensif dalam jangka panjang dapat mengakibatkan degradasi lahan. Hal ini ditandai dengan rendahnya porositas tanah, rendahnya kemantapan agregat tanah, tingginya berat isi tanah, rendahnya nilai tukar kation, dan secara keseluruhan dapat dikatakan bahwa kesuburan tanah menurun, yang dalam jangka waktu tertentu terjadi degradasi lahan. Oleh sebab, itu perlu adanya upaya perbaikan kondisi tanah melalui pemberian biochar. Jadi tujuan penelitian ini adalah : 1) Mengetahui pengaruh biochar sebagai bahan pembenah tanah terhadap perbaikan sifat fisik (kemantapan agregat, berat isi tanah, dan porositas) dan sifat kimia (C-organik, pH, N-total, dan KTK) pada tanah Alfisol, dan 2). Mengetahui pengaruh biochar terhadap peningkatan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang tanah pada tanah Alfisol. Pelaksanaan penelitian berlangsung selama 4 bulan, yaitu mulai bulan Juni 2013 sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2013. Jenis tanah yang digunakan ialah Alfisol di Jatikerto. Penelitian menggunakan metode RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan, yaitu kontrol (P0), Tanah + Biochar Tempurung Kelapa 5% (P1). Tanah + Pupuk Kandang Sapi 5% (P2), Tanah + Biochar Tempurung Kelapa 4% + Pupuk Kandang Sapi 1% (P3), Tanah + Biochar Tempurung Kelapa 1% + Pupuk kandang Sapi 4% (P4). Semua perlakuan diaplikasikan pada polybag 5 kg. Biochar dan pupuk kandang diberikan pada saat awal tanam. Data yang diperoleh diuji secara statistik dengan uji Duncan pada taraf 5%. Uji korelasi digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan antar parameter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian biochar tempurung kelapa berpengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan pH tanah, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan C-organik tanah, N-total tanah, KTK, kemantapan agregat tanah, berat isi tanah, porositas tanah, serta pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang tanah pada Alfisol Jatikerto. Pengaruh tertinggi didapatkan dari perlakuan pemberian biochar 1% + pupuk kandang 4% (P4) yang mana mampu berpengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan C-organik tanah, N-total tanah, porositas tanah, jumlah polong serta penurunan berat isi tanah.
English Abstract
Intensive farming systems in the long term can lead to land degradation. It is characterized with low soil porosity, soil aggregate stability, the high of the soil bulk density, low cation exchange value, and overall it can be said that soil fertility decreased, which occurred land degradation within a certain period. Therefore, it was necessary to attempt repair of soil conditions via the granting of biochar. So the purpose of this research was: 1) To understand the influence of biochar as a soil restoration material to improved physical properties (aggregate stability, soil bulk density, and porosity) and chemical properties (C-organic, pH, total N, and CEC) on Alfisol soil, and; 2) Determine the effect of biochar against crop growth rate and productivity of peanuts on the Alfisol. Implementation of the research going on for 4 months, begin from June 2013 to October 2013. Soil type that used is Alfisol in Jatikerto. The research using CRD method (Complete Random Design) with 5 treatments and five replicates, i.e. Control (P0), 5% coconut shell biochar (P1), 5% cow manure (P2), 4% coconut shell biochar + 1% cow manure (P3), 1% coconut shell biochar + 4% cow manure (P4). All of the treatments applied to the polybag by 5 kg size. Biochar and cow manure is given at the time of the initial planting. The Data obtained are statistically tested with Duncan test at 5% level. The correlation test was used to determine the relationships between the parameters. The results showed that the granting of biochar had significant effect to increased soil pH, but no real impact against an increase of soil organic C, total N-soil, soil aggregate stability, CEC, soil bulk density, soil porosity, as well as growth and crop yield peanuts in the Alfisol Jatikerto. The highest influence obtained from treatment of 1% biochar + 4% cow manure (P4) which has significant effect to increased soil organic C, total N-soil, soil porosity, the number of pods as well as decreasing of soil bulk density.
