Abstract

Cendawan entomopatogen merupakan cendawan yang menginfeksi serangga dengan cara masuk ketubuh serangga inang melalui kulit, saluran pencernaan, spirakel. Salah satu cendawan entomopatogen yang potensial mengendalikan beberapa spesies serangga hama adalah Beauveria sp. Cendawan ini sebagai agens hayati yang efektif menginfeksi beberapa jenis serangga hama, terutama ordo Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Homoptera, dan Coleoptera. Tujuan penelitian ialah Untuk mendapatkan isolat cendawan entomopatogen Beauveria sp. dari komoditas jagung, tomat dan wortel organik di Batu, Malang. Manfaat penelitian adalah Memperbanyak informasi persebaran keberadaan habitat cendawan entomopatogen Beauveria sp. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Sub Laboratorium Nematologi, Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang. Pengambilan sampel tanah di Batu, Malang. Penelitian dimulai pada bulan Juli sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2013. Metode meliputi Rearing Larva Serangga Umpan, Eksplorasi Cendawan Entomopatogen, Media Cendawan Entomopatogen, Isolasi Cendawan Entomopatogen, Identifikasi Cendawan, Pembuatan Preparat, Perhitungan Kerapatan Spora dan Penularan kembali ke Larva Tenebrio molitor. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode serangga umpan yang dilakukan pada komoditas jagung, tomat dan wortel organik di Batu, Malang, efektif memancing cendawan entomopatogen yang berada di dalam tanah. Persentase cendawan entomopatogen yang didapatkan pada komoditas jagung sebanyak 20%, pada komoditas tomat sebanyak 20% dan pada komoditas wortel sebanyak 26%. Dari 15 sampel cendawan entomopatogen yang diidentifikasi, 12 sampel teridentifikasi sebagai Beauveria sp., sedangkan 3 sampel belum dapat diidentifikasi. Persentase mortalitas penularan kembali ke Larva T. molitor berkisar antara 80-100%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa isolat cendawan entomopatogen yang diperoleh dari ketiga jenis lahan berpotensi untuk mengendalikan serangga hama larva T. molitor.

English Abstract

Entomopathogenic fungi are fungi that infect insects by way of entry into the body through the skin of the host insect, digestive tract and spiracles. One potential entomopathogenic fungi to control some insect pest species is Beauveria sp. These fungi are biological agents that effectively infect several types of insect pests, especially the order Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Homoptera, and Coleoptera. The purpose of this study was to obtain isolates of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria sp. from corn, tomatoes and carrots in organic plantation in Batu, Malang. The benefit of research is the existence of habitat distribution information of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria sp. The experiment was conducted on Sub Nematologi Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang. Soil sampling was conducted in Batu, Malang. The study began in July to October 2013. Research methods include rearing insect bait, exploration entomopathogenic fungi, entomopathogenic fungi media, isolation of entomopathogenic fungi, fungi identification, mixture preparation, calculation of density of spores and back transmission to the insect Tenebrio molitor. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the use of methods insect bait on corn, tomatoes and carrots organic plantation in Batu, Malang, can provoke entomopathogenic fungi in the soil. Percentage of entomopathogenic fungi found in corn, tomatoes, and carrots were 20%, 20%, and 26% respectively. Of the 15 samples entomopathogenic fungi that were identified, 12 samples were identified as Beauveria sp., while 3 samples could not be identified. Mortality percentage from back transmission to the insect T. molitor were ranged between 80-100%, so it can be concluded that entomopathogenic fungi isolates obtained from the three types of land have the potential to control insect pests T. molitor.
